Season 95, Vol 2: Michigan Tech '15-'16

Re: Season 95, Vol 2: Michigan Tech '15-'16

There must be a "new unofficial" policy in place for ticketing: there are only 24 seats left for tomorrow, and they still haven't released any GA tickets. I'm holding out for standing room though.

There might be a GA is walkup/day of only situation.

actually, my bad. It looks like I can order standing room tix online but the site isn't showing how many are still available.

A real good article on this upcoming series in the Tech Hockey guide. Thanks for writing that.

Thanks, I appreciate that. I took it a different direction this week with the rivalry. Was hoping to find the "sword fight" as St. Louis' shot crossed the line but couldn't dig it up for the article.

A free SRO ticket was offered to all season ticket holders at last weekend's Alaska series for this Friday's game. That was extended through Wednesday at 9:00pm. That may be why general admission weren't available till today. The Mac should be packed. I gave my free tickets away no problem.

I'm very excited for this series. does someone know the power ramifications? We have not won the comparison unless we get at least 3 points is that correct?

Pwr comparison with NMU? We can split and win the comparison with better RPI. The problem is we need to get at least 3 pts and sweep next week for pwr to matter.

quick thought on the pairwise - If Miami and UMD split, UMD will maintain the higher pairwise ranking, but still stay below .500, keeping them out of the tourney (playoffs not accounted for). It also appears to hurt Minnesota in the comparisons. Something to hope for.

If UMD/Miami split they will face each other again...if that series goes 3 games and UMD wins it...they go to Minneapolis where they could lose twice and be out on being below 0.500.

GAME DAY! It's the last weekend of the regular season and Michigan Tech is playing for the Cup (for the second year in a row).
Time for Tech to get two big wins. And Bemidji, you have just one job to do, and two games to do it. Get it done.

I don't care for the fact that Tech is playing in the ETZ while Mankato will play in the CTZ this weekend. While you hope it doesn't come down to some fluke event Saturday night, Mankato will have the option to scoreboard watch and play their 3rd period / OT accordingly if needed.

Given how the first period went, Tech might be better off declining any further penalties committed by NMU... That was a bad 7 minutes of power play hockey for Tech. The Huskies looked just fine 5 on 5.

On the PK, NMU is playing a very wide box and it looks like the only option is to make risky diagonal passes through the NMU box. They made it work a couple times out to the point for Roy, but working around the perimeter isn't going well.

The UAA sweep at home is going to bone us out of the MacNaughton for another year, isn't it?

Of course, there are other home losses to point to, but those two just sting the most.

If UAH can score 7, Bemidji can at least snipe one win for us, right?

BTW, that third period in Huntsville was entertaining as all hell
