Season 95, Vol 2: Michigan Tech '15-'16

Re: Season 95, Vol 2: Michigan Tech '15-'16

Assuming all scores hold (and home teams win currently tied playoff games) MTU will finish tonight 14th in PWR (excluding game in Alaska).

Lots of scores currently going the Huskies way (Minnesota lost, Penn State losing, Minnesota Duluth currently tied, BSU currently winning)
Only score we'd like to see change right now is UNO loss to DU instead of tie.

Good game, both Mel and Dirk pretty happy with a long conversation

Mel's postgame with Dirk:
We need to work on our 5x3, that's why we put out our guys at the end
Jamie Phillips really played well, need that on the road
Sturos/Vallis, good to see others getting goals
Not happy to give them life in 3rd with the goal
Couldn't be prouder of the this team and their year, and really 2nd half
Look at the ground we've made up in 2nd half, fantastic
Sturos has been good, good to see him rewarded with a goal
A few guys had tough nights tonight, but a lot stepped up with real good nights
Matt Roy had a good game, he has high expectations of himself/hard on himself, but he had a real good game
Special teams were excellent, especially goalie, might've been Jamie's best game of 2nd half
Mel doesn't know how much we'll move in PWR, we can only control our games and Ws
Mel had a dream 10 years ago, before he ever came back to Houghton that he'd be celebrating with the MacNaughton after a Northern game, hopeful
told game regardless of the outcome, they've had a heck of a regular season
Dirk - seems we have been here before, wishing we had another point somewhere
No school - don't want to overwork team, but stay sharp, will not be routine, don't want too much sitting, keep them busy
Fans have been great - without students, asking public to come to the games
Senior appreciation brunch - 11:30, Continental Fire hall - a video, hear from seniors, show your support

Wow! I just followed along on twitter, and from the sounds of it, all the BSU icing, non-call penalties etc, BSU hung on ever since they went up 1-0. It was meant to be, Mac back to the Mac!

It was a very rough 3rd period as well, SOG were extremely in favor of Mankato.

This is awesome, way to go Huskies, what a team, what a coaching staff, what a fanbase.

Enjoy it and get ready for the playoffs.

I don't think so, we cannot even have a share of the Cup until the result in Mankato is known. It could go to Houghton, players could celebrate late Saturday night or Sunday with it if we get the MSU L and we win.
Possibly having a pre/post-game presentation for the fans the following weekend would be a great way to start the playoffs.

Cup city. WINNER WINNER chicken dinner
