as of this morning thanks to Minnesota's loss, the Huskies are inside the top 16 in the PairWise (since Miami can't make the tournament with a sub .500 record). Of course this doesn't account for the autobids that will pick off a couple spots on the bottom of the list.

Not to pick nits, but I think Miami will be above 500 after this weekend. Also, Minnesota, if they win tonight, will be back ahead. But yes as of this morning.....

Yep... Still a lot of things that have to go our way to get the at-large bid.

But, none of those things matter if we don't get W's. The mantra for the boys in Black & Gold has to be one thing... "Foot on the gas for 60 minutes" for every game from now till the end of the season. One slip up and it will take the Broadmoor to qualify. We don't have the schedule strength to recover from a slip.

I think it is bigger as they have been working on this rebranding for some time now. I've seen marketing studies comparing to other universities, being more strict to what is used on clothing and other items.

What do you mean more strict? Not having Michigan Tech on everything in 20 different fonts?

I'm wondering if it will only be the university brand, or if the word "Husky" "Huskies" or a mascot logo will also be involved. I guess we will see.

From what I gather today is about the University, not that Athletics Department rebrand...that should be coming later.

from the sounds of Glen, "We decided the piano dog isn't going to cut it", I took it the full-body silhouette is a replacement for piano dog. It's nice for a bumper sticker, but maybe stick with script Huskies on the jerseys.
I did not get a screen capture during the unveiling.
edit: never mind, you can replay it to the big moment at 17:30 or so.

I don't think the full-body silhouette will be the athletic logo directly but I don't think you're far off...we'll have to see.

Not bad. I think I prefer piano dog, but its better than the clipart from earlier in the thread it was to be derived from.

Its not much of an athletics logo though - definitely need to continue growing stronger with the script Huskies jerseys. There isn't a better jersey out there than the Cream throwbacks.

Edit: In retrospect, probably should have seen this coming after the bronze statue got put in.

It's nothing to get really excited about, but for those that have been to campus the new image mark has a nice tie in now. Kind of like if only MEs went to Tech and the outline of the MEEM was in the logo. In summary, sure I'll put one of those on my truck. And then someone will ask me "What's with the wolf?"

...not particularly bad. They'll have to make it a little more informal for athletics, but it beats piano dog.

Maybe keep that for general use, and use script Huskies along with just the silhouette of the dog for athletics.
