A win is a win but I hope Mel will be ripping the team a new a**hole in the locker room after this game.

Re: Season 95, Vol 2: Michigan Tech '15-'16

wow, big 2 points

Mel's postgame with Dirk:
games like this age you as a coach
Credit to UAF, down by 4, they fought back
We got away from our game, PK has to be better
Overall have to find a way to win, made a play
We have to be better tomorrow, we will be
We had better chances later in the game than in 1st, they just went in 1st period
Neville skated well, Sturos is playing really well, Vallis is in the right spot to score, that line has been good
L'Esperance had a few chances tonight, he's playing strong/protecting the puck

Re: Season 95, Vol 2: Michigan Tech '15-'16

Too close for comfort, but got the win. Like those winners late in the game when crowd goes nuts, but nerve-racking at the same time. Yeah those 2 points are huge.

The younger brother (likely recruiting target) of Jackson Cates (#10 in this video) scored an amazing goal to send his team to the state tournament tonight:

Re: Season 95, Vol 2: Michigan Tech '15-'16

Well if the team wants to focus on one game at a time, a win tomorrow night FINALLY secures home ice for Tech in the WCHA playoffs. As strange as it might sound, if Tech loses tomorrow night the final weekend of the season they could win the Cup or find themselves on the road for the first round of the playoffs...talk about all or nothing.

Also worth mentioning, Stillwater will most likely be the #1 overall seed in the state tourney. Which is a pretty big deal, especially if we can lock up their 2 best players.

A loss by Mankato tonight and there would b a 3 way tie atop the WCHA standings. How would the tiebreakers work out?

Amazing goal! Players and fans got into that game winner. Enough to make the hairs on the neck stand up if you were at that one, what a finish.

Pretty big deal to make the tourney, especially for a town like Stillwater. It will be the biggest hockey moment of all of those guys careers.

Huskies will finish the night tied for 16th with Minnesota (so actually sitting 17th) regardless of tonight's MSU vs UAA game.
If things go mostly perfect tomorrow they can still climb as high as 14th but that doesn't seem very likely.

Going to need MN to choke once in East Lansing next weekend.
