I heard we had a pretty nice prospect at the (thankfully) Friday night game. Of course, he could have been there watching the Sioux. It was somebody who has visited SCSU in the past, so he might be getting close to making a decision. He's a player that has or will have multiple offers.

No, we don't hate you. Maybe when you win some titles it will get our attention. Until then, you rank down (way down) below Minnesota, North Dakota, and Michigan on our radar.

The question was posed: do other schools hate St. C. like you hate us? Then he puts UW as #1 on his hate list. I replied that I don't hate St. C.
What was to misinterpret?
The only thing I don't like about (some) Husky fans is the way their loyalty changes with the game. Plenty of times at St. Paul, I drink and cheer with the Husky fans only to have them turn and cheer for Minnesota against UW. What's up with that?

Clearly I hate the Badgers more than they hate my team then. My loyalty never changes, I always root for the Huskies and against the Badgers. I don't know you, I've never met you and my dislike of UW sports is not a reflection of you, you might be the nicest person I could ever meet. I dislike the Badgers the most (and I am in a minority of Husky fans that don't dislike Minnesota the most) because I am a huge fan of Gopher sports other than hockey (football in particular, of which I am a former season ticket holder) and I have had multiple unprovoked run-ins with Badger fans at Gopher football and SCSU and UMD hockey games. Also, Wisconsin teams are Minnesota teams' biggest rival, and I'm a fan of Minnesota sports in general.

The thread title is a reference to the mostly-true perception that many opposing fans dislike SCSU fan for a variety of reasons/stereotypes, and "hate lists" had become a bit of a theme at the end of the previous season thread.

This is the most ridiculous post ever. They base the scholar-athlete thing on your GPA at your said university. When you go to an elementary school for college, your GPA is going to be pretty high.

NEWSFLASH: UMD isn't any more difficult of a school than SCSU

So if Marvin wouldn't do such a thing on his own right, can I suggest that Motzko sent him after Genoway?

Of course its allowed, this is America. And I'm allowed to call that thought moronic. Motzko has his own fan base *****ing about how he coaches a team that's not physical enough, why would he put a hit on a team that is perceived to be bigger, more physical, and goonish?

Agree - this weekend was big to begin with but now it's even more so. A 8-1 drubbing like we took could tank a season.

You guys are looking at this all wrong. We lost a game, we didn't play well, it sucked. Here's where both Garretts, Lasch, Marvin, those guys step up and tell the rest of the team that all we can do now is play well in Wisconsin. As much as it sucks at the moment, as far as a team goes, I'd rather lose 8-1 than a heartbreaking 4-3 in OT in college hockey.

And a thanks to the good UND fans like brian, MNS, and 90% of the fan base that get what's going on. It was good hockey, both sides were guilty of bad decisions, and I think that both teams demonstrated what they're about. End of story.

Next up: Who's for the first time in his life excited to go to Wisconsin!?!

I know Eades and Jackson were at a game in the twin cities watching a prospect on Thursday night who had a brother play a few years ago in the WCHA and when we were picking up our tix at will call I did notice a few tickets in the box that were slated for UND Hockey Recruits.

I attended both schools and can attest that they are on par with each other. It's funny that anyone who graduates from UMD feels a sense of superiority because their diploma says "University of Minnesota."

The official announcement:

The WCHA has announced one-game suspensions to UND's Mario Lamoureux and St. Cloud State's Chris Hepp.

The release says that Lamoureux was suspended for "violating the WCHA Code of Conduct/Sportsmanship Rules."

It says Hepp was suspended for violating "NCAA playing rules."

So Mario got one for "instigating" a fight that never happened and Hepp got one for coming off the bench.

Nice article in the SCSU alumni mag on the renovation of the NHC and the whole 5th ave project. It said they have done tons of improvements to campus as well. I haven't walked around the main part of campus in years. Sounds like I need to take a walk and check things out.

Finally found my SCSU jersey. Will be wearing the colors this weekend at Big Red Freakout, which is a little sacrilegious but hey, I'm just fortunate enough to have two teams with red, white, and black as the primary colors.

Ah, Mario's crazy enough to have held his own in that fight. Not Zach Jones crazy, but crazy nonetheless. Just because Marvin has the height/weight advantage doesn't mean he's handy with the fists.

A little birdie told me the ice crew was having a hard time getting the yellow stain out of the ice from where Lammy dropped the gloves.
