SCSU Off-season thread 2; DL's NOT DEAD!

Re: SCSU Off-season thread 2; DL's NOT DEAD!

What is your problem with KA? I guess the questions should be who does TB not have a problem with?

Its not KA, or at least for me its not, its Twitter. Twitter could be one of the stupidest things mankind has ever come up with, and for that, I won't get involved.

So do we know yet who's starting which nights? And do we know if they're gonna (attempt to) show them on Charter Mainstreet in the Cities?

I am sure Kevin will post the line up tonight on his blog.

Re: SCSU Off-season thread 2; DL's NOT DEAD!

I like Kevin as a writer, I don't like twitter.....

Have you tried twitter? I don't really tweet anything, since no one cares what I would have to say, but I do enjoy getting updates from bloggers and sports writers. Pretty convenient little program.

I assume it's gonna be on. This being said, I'll have the radio feed ready just in case.

The Facebook Charter Mainstreet group says they're showing Mavs and Badgers!

Which really sucks, 'cause I work, so I can't listen to it, but I was hoping to tape it and watch it later.

Also, not sure if I can't find Allenspach's official blog page or if I've found it and its not up to date, so no lineups yet that I've found. :(

I would have to agree with H4L, I was skeptical of twitter at first but it is a great way to find out what is going on in the world, sports etc. almost instantly. I follow a few sports writers as well as some news accounts, and I really like it now. You should try it because the same people who were/are against texting aren't fond of twitter.

Re: SCSU Off-season thread 2; DL's NOT DEAD!

Just read the UMD lines on KA's blog, looks like zabs illness has come out of the shadows as headaches...

What a HORRIBLE schedule! From mid Oct to mid Nov we're never on the road for a full series, having 9 out of 10 games at home. Then mid Jan to mid Feb we've got 7 of 8 on the road! And I was hoping to make it to both Bemidji and Omaha for our first WCHA series with them, to show them that WCHA fans travel well and show up loud, and they're gonna be on back to back weekends, which isn't gonna be easy to pull off. :(

Re: SCSU Off-season thread 2; DL's NOT DEAD!

5. Joseph Addai, Donald Brown, Reggie Wayne, Pierre Garcon, Austin Collie and Dallas Clark all gain at least 50 yards. Is it really that crazy to think this? No Will Witherspoon for the Rams anymore. Some guy named Craig Dahl starting at safety. It’s gonna be like shooting fish (or in this case, Rams) in a barrel for Peyton Manning, and then the RBs will mop up.

read this on my fantasy football site...lol

Re: SCSU Off-season thread 2; DL's NOT DEAD!

Hano, Leblanc, Festler line seems to be clicking very well. I thought the LF connection might still have some chemistry. On that note, where are Roe and Lasch? Those two need to get it going and soon. Could really use Zabs and Rioux back on the blue line.

Oslund had a nice game tonight. I said during the week he should be on the top line with Roe and Lasch and after tonight he better be. Mosey stinks and is not good enough to be a top line guy.

Barta is brutal and why he plays is beyond me. Not only can't the guy skate, he can't shoot or pass either. Rioux better be in the line up tomorrow night.

I thought Gaudet and Johnson both played well tonight and the defense as a whole played much better today. The Huskies really took it to UMD in the third period and looked like the faster more skilled team. Lee sieved out and cost his team a win tonight.

Re: SCSU Off-season thread 2; DL's NOT DEAD!

Dunn even took a shot at an empty net in the final minute, missing by a few feet. But he withstood the icing.
"I thought (Huskies coach Bob Motzko) was going to kill me," said Dunn, a 6-foot-5 Washington Capitals draftee from Oshawa, Ontario. "I looked over there and it seemed like he just had this glare."
Afterward, however, Motzko had only praise for his big goalie.
"That was an upperclassman getting an opportunity and making the most of it," Motzko said. "Good for Dan. He wanted this moment and he got it. He made a lot of big plays all night."
Including the shot at a goal?
"I loved it," Motzko said. "Why not? Get out there and go for it. We need a lot of our guys to take that same mind set."

Interesting. Shows two completely different perspectives. Kinda sends a signal to me that Dunn is playing scared. He's peeking over to the coach to seek "approval". Motzko doesn't always have even the nicest scowl on his face but it's easy to see how Dunn could get discouraged and play scared, leading to his lackluster performances. Not all of them have been bad but we all know all starts could have been way better for the potential he has.

I only know Motzko from the bench, his interviews in the media and the few times I visited his office, but he seems like the kinda coach that I had in high school. He's intimidating from his appearance. He won't sugercoat anything, tell you straight up how he feels. But he isn't going to throw anyone under the bus, obviously, but its more than that because he commends you on the good and gets in your ear on the bad both to help you learn the game and play it better. And you don't learn that until situations like this where you realize he's not cutting you down, just trying to help. Most of all when you give your all to him and the team he will stand by you no matter the cost.

Hopefully what Motzko said in the locker room and this quote really gets to Dunn and shows him that Motzko really believes in him, boosting his confidence and helping him to play the net like he can/should. With that Dunn and Lee could be the best 1-2 goalie tandem in the nation.
