SCSU Huskies 2010 Off-Season Thread

Re: SCSU Huskies 2010 Off-Season Thread

We have a football team? Whoa.

Yes, but SCSU officials recently reported that the University has to trim another 10% from its budget over the next three year period (after just completing a similar budget cut) and everything is on the table, including athletic budgets. In this recessionary, budget-slashing climate, SCSU is simply forced to eliminate programs and be willing to say "good-bye" to some students who may transfer to follow their program or sport.

I don't think football will be eliminated, but nothing is exempt to cuts.:(

Re: SCSU Huskies 2010 Off-Season Thread

I don't even know what that means.

They're cutting out drink specials at the bar where you pay one price to get in for the couple hours and can drink as much as you want. Beer and Pizza is a set price that gets you in the door for two hours and all tap beer is free after that. Hi-Ho Silver is you pay a cover and then any silver coin gets you a drink for two hours, so even though its not free, if you go with a handful of nickels, you can basically get smashed for the cover plus less than a dollar.

Agreed. Check out the SCSU website. The Homecoming schedule is being stretched to start on Saturday, Oct. 16, 2010 to include three athletic events including the Miami University men's hockey game at the NHC.

Oh... well THAT solves it. As long as its written as part of Homecoming, who even cares that its on a seperate weekend?

Men's Wrestling would likely be first to go.

If they were smart they would cut football. They lose tons of money and require the most scholarships.

It would also leave Husky Stadium empty save for women's soccer and intramurals, so they'd never do it. We'd see wrestling or swimming go before they cut football.

Re: SCSU Huskies 2010 Off-Season Thread

So,who's going to Omaha? Boomer, myself and our partners are going. Should be fun.

On another note:
Here's to hoping Lou Chia gets a contract extension. (That's my opinon, I have no proof)

Re: SCSU Huskies 2010 Off-Season Thread

So far, we're just doing the tourney. Other trips will be Bermidji and Duloot.

Speaking of "trips", the goofers may be tripping as they seem to be in ongoing free fall. Goodbye Leddy, goodbye Birkholz. GPL predicts that a WCHA Final Five appearance for the goofers in 2011 is a long shot.:D

they actually got rid of Beer and pizza(essentially). They legally can't get rid of hi ho silver, because technically, they are paying per drink, therefore, they can get away with it. It's now what Rm runners does with B and P. nickel a beer!

It may be legal now, they'll figure out a way to get it eventually.

Re: SCSU Huskies 2010 Off-Season Thread

Well that's not very nice..

Nice? As in Minnesota nice?

I'm not necessarily hoping bad things happen to the goofers. Its just that when the goofers encounter some "misfortune", I may experience a feeling of some personal "pleasure" in learning about such matters. :D
