SCSU Huskies 2010 Off-Season Thread

Re: SCSU Huskies 2010 Off-Season Thread

I called this months ago, he's too small for the NHL, but has the technical skill to succeed in Europe(except the KHL).

Man you are a genius...;) Ryan from accounts is a good kid wiht a good head on his shoulders. Hopefully hockey will allow him to see the world and play the game he loves. You don't have to play in the NHL to be successful. I wish him well in hockey and in life. It was fun watching him play for 4 years...

you're too kind, but I was referring to a post I made a few months ago when people were theorizing where he'd go.

Re: SCSU Huskies 2010 Off-Season Thread

He's likely over there to start because teams don't know if he can produce because of his size and if he doesn't produce he's not worth much as a player. But I wouldn't bet against him proving he can produce in a high league like the swedish league.

It's only what he's done at every single level he's ever played at. He was supposed to be too small to play bantam. He was supposed to be too small to play in the OPJHL. He was supposed to be too small to be able to replicate his OPJHL numbers in the WCHA.

Yup.
It's the fact he and Roe have been told that time and again and keep producing that's the reason why I won't bet against either one of them getting where they want.

Oh and stb, we got Ness. :D

Re: SCSU Huskies 2010 Off-Season Thread

The Swedish is not particularly physical, I'd say less than the WCHA, so that will be to his advantage. If you want to follow the team's results and his statistics go to http://stats.swehockey.se

SO, the wild signed Matt Cullen. It'll be great to see a HUSKY on the wild again. I loved when Parrish played for them

Re: SCSU Huskies 2010 Off-Season Thread

It's about time the Wild wised up. Cullen will improve that team immensely, his face-off expertise, his passing, his experience, etc. etc. Might even be a reason to watch a few games.

Re: SCSU Huskies 2010 Off-Season Thread

Good thing Fletcher is making the call to bring in a Husckey. Old Wild management would have begged goofer Paul Martin for a discount.

Some posters are disparaging the new WCHA website on another thread. I think the new website is a vast improvement over the previous one that offered limited information, and therefore, I did not frequent it too much.

On the new WCHA website, I learned that SCSU has three different single game ticket prices for regular season conference games in 2010-11 as follows: $20 for BSU, NO and MT games; $25 for CC and MSU; and $30 for ND and WI. Has SCSU always priced the regular season games at different rates for single game tickets?

Yes they have always had different ticket prices for differnet teams. The only difference now is they seem to have even more layers of ticket prices than they use to have. Of course I have had season tickets for 13 years so that stuff doesn't matter to me.:D

So I guess that is one less angry brick to throw at Craig Leipold's house. It has changed to one positive brick to throw at his house instead. :D

I went to the Twins game on July 1, vs. Tampa Bay Rays. When the Rays tied it up laste in the game, the Gopher fans started leaving. It's so important to beat the traffic.

They have to get their practice in for the upcoming season, after all.

Re: SCSU Huskies 2010 Off-Season Thread

Can we retake Mosey's goal back? This offseason is way more boring now that we've won an NCAA game. :(

Re: SCSU Huskies 2010 Off-Season Thread

So those idiotic rule changes that John Hill proposed? Is that a WCHA thing or an NCAA thing?

You'd rather have an off-season like Wisconsin's?
Rumor has it they may lose Gardiner too.

Could there be another? Eaves acknowledged Tuesday that sophomore defenseman Jake Gardiner, a first-round NHL draft pick of Anaheim who was paired last season with McDonagh, has been quietly weighing the option of turning pro. Eaves said his latest vibe is that Gardiner will return to UW for his junior season.

Meanwhile, sophomore winger Jordy Murray — the top returning goal-scorer for the Badgers with 12 — is contemplating opportunities to play in Europe, a route his older brother Brady took after two seasons at North Dakota.

IF passed it would be an NCAA thing.
Motzko talks about the prosped changes in this morning's Times.
