Per KFAN sports radio in the Twin Cities, and Michael Russo reports that Gopher hockey players are to report to Mariucci for a team meeting at 1.

Wow, what if people in the real world could choke at crunch time and still get a promotion?

Fix up your old Ford and make it run great, but it can still crap out.

Guys at the Cadillac dealership see you did a good job and invite you over to work with better tools and better cars.

Or...offer you a lot more money to fix their own broken Ford. A Cadillac the gophers are not.

Well... you still didn't really "fix" the car if it's still broke. If you built a car from broken parts and made it run like a "champ"... then maybe I'll give you a better job.

Now the question is whether Motzko sabotaged the team against Air Force. Wouldn't put it past that turncoat.

It would be tough to beat that as a back-up plan, but I don't know how realistic that is. I know Hastings is an SCSU alum, but not sure how much of a connection he still has.

I say little chance of Hastings taking SCSU job as SCSU is not well financially having lost thousands of students past few years and cut a lot of programs so not like they have the $ for buyout.

There are a number of things working in Mankato’s favor of him staying..

But, if the Mavs aren’t going to be headed to the NCHC in the next couple years, which Hastings and MSU have made clear is their intention, chances could be greater..

(FWIW, I’ve been told MSU expects to be in the NCHC in the next 2-4 years)

I think this is a temp fix to bridge gap for recruiting and the real story is who in on staff as that will tell you the longer term plans at U.
