Yes, but it also shows one of the big reasons why datacenters exploded throughout the Mountain West over the last 15 years. Of course now they need water cooling, so we're starting to see proposals to build them in Michigan and several communities have been trying to push back hard on them, sometimes against the votes of the local pols.

This was issued by KBJ and it seems to be a move to actually speed things along compared to Roberts likely taking it up and dragging his feet.
 
It will never stop. The species is split between the curious who want to move forward and the weaklings who want to hide in the cave. Unless we actually bio-engineer ourselves to change* that it will never, ever stop.

* And let's not. This dynamic got us this far. I suspect there are times when the gibbering cowards who hide under their bed and strike blindly at everything they don't understand with a knitting needle have helped us against some particular boss.

The minute you throw something useless out, that's when you need it.

I wonder how sound Obergefell is. Roe was famously anchored wrong (Privacy not 14th Amendment). Obviously that was just a pretext for the Thumpers, but it was enough of a lever to dislodge it. Obergefell was anchored in the 14th.

Of course, the fasc would kill the 14th if they could.

And after considering all the evidence, it (The District Court) held that the answer was clear. Texas largely divided its citizens along racial lines to create its new pro-Republican House map, in violation of the Constitution’s Fourteenth and Fifteenth Amendments.The court issued a 160-page opinion recounting in detail its factual findings.Yet this Court reverses that judgment based on its perusal, over a holiday weekend, of a cold paper record. We are a higher court than the District Court, but we are not a better one when it comes to making such a fact-based decision.

One of the most obvious self-serving political decisions in the Court's history.

I hope TX chokes on their gerrymander and we flip one of their otherwise safe seats because of, not despite, it.

The GOP is a threat to America -- in all three branches. Pure drip slime.

Roberts has been trying to kill the CRA for decades...and he just basically did it. He is going to end the Constitution when he blocks California's voter approved gerrymandering and California tells them to pound sand.
 
They have been trying to repeal the 14th Amendment for 150 years, too. This Court is a radical distortion of the Constitution 100x worse than Plessy and Lochner.

We are already in Civil War II. It's being fought in the Courts instead of the streets, so far, but only because so far we are losing. If/when we begin to roll the fascist wave back, the gun fondling cowards are going to mount a violent insurgency, murdering teachers and health care providers and assassinating soft targets like town councils and county boards, all the while hiding behind their "churches." A hard rain's gonna fall and it is time we woke up and realized we need the full power of law and force to end their threat.

In the very long run, it is for the best that they themselves finally brought the truth of what American Conservatism was always been to the surface. Limited government and strict construction was always camouflage. William Buckley and Antonin Scalia were Useful Idiots, Great Birnham Wood, while under their cover the self-declared Neofeudal Lords and their slave orc army slouched towards Capitol Hill.

The Right is a boot stamping on a human face forever. No one is safe anywhere until they are removed from power everywhere.
