The Trademark one reads somewhat as though Sotomayor initially had the majority opinion, but lost Jackson to Alito. Not as obvious as some prior instances of losing opinions, but possible.

So tomorrow we'll get student loans and the anti discrimination law cases.

Interesting. Curious who is going to get those cases. Gorsuch hasn't written in December but has six opinions already. February is a complete crapshoot since only three justices have written. Alito is the most likely to get at least one of the February cases, if not both. Today's confusion over whether Sotomayor or Alito had the trademark case might explain her lower opinion count.

SCOTUS rules 6-3 in favor of the right to discriminate against LGBTQ people. Shooting down student loan forgiveness is next. My guess is they’ll throw out the case for lack of standing that involves the two student loan borrowers, but rule 6-3 for the loan service providers.

Edit: And so they did. Student loan forgiveness is d-e-d, dead.

Basically nailed it on the head for student loan forgiveness. Been saying (more accurately, the people I read have been saying) since the appeals court blocked it in October that SCOTUS would use the major questions doctrine to strike it down for good. And so they did.
There is another way Biden could cancel student loan forgiveness, but even if he takes that route, I could easily see it meeting the same fate at this current attempt.
 
Yeah, wont someone think of the bankers?!?!?

Someone should take the same route with farm subsidies and see how fast no one on any court has a problem doling out millions in welfare yearly to them.

Biden should put another pause on and then forget to hit unpause ;^)
