Let's hope her intellectual equal replaces her.

Sure. And that was ignored, because, Republicans.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) and President Trump both came to Kavanaugh's defense over the weekend, with McConnell criticizing Democrats for a "willingness to seize on completely uncorroborated and unsubstantiated allegations."

uncorroborated and unsubstantiated two more words that no Republican knows the definition.

Re: SCOTUS 15: Help Us, Ruth Bader Ginsburg! You're Our Only Hope!

Can't substantiate or corroborate anything if you don't investigate.

A reminder for Maine.

With Kavanaugh’s crimes back in the news, a reminder that Susan Collins stood before the American people and disparaged a sexual assault survivor to get Kavanaugh on the Court. A truly shameful speech by a shameless person.

Never forget her role in this travesty.
— Matt McDermott (@mattmfm) September 15, 2019

That's all her opponent needs to run on.

Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine) said she does not regret her vote to confirm Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh, despite the vote becoming a key issue among Democrats hoping to unseat her when she is up for reelection next year.

“I do not regret my vote in the least,” she said in an interview with The New York Times published Saturday.

Well you know, if you let the FBI investigate, they can find out quite easily whether they are " unsubstantiated and uncorroborated". Just saying.

Edit: Fade and I on the same page here.

Not really. The FBI has been taken over by Barr which is totally controlled by Trump. This is why Mueller was such a gargantuan disappointment and failed at his job.

No sticky.

Mueller could only do what he could do. The quote is "a republic, if you can keep it."

The disappointment is the American people. We are the ones who let this happen. Nazism took root here because we were lazy, stupid, and unwilling to put our petty squabbles away in the face of an existential threat to democracy. You still see people doing it, right here, when they slag members of the coalition that can stop it.

This is the last great legacy of the most selfish people to ever come down the pike. "It's all our fault."

In a sane world this turns Collins' seat blue. I don't know how far Maine has gone into Snow Appalachia but if they have even a smidgen of intelligence left any reasonably competent Dem can bring that seat home.

1 down, 2 plus the presidency to go.

We'll agree to disagree. Mueller could have done more. He didn't.

That’s from July, it’s not new. What is she supposed to say? That he’s a thug? She’s got more class in her pinky than any R voter can dream of

Re: SCOTUS 15: Help Us, Ruth Bader Ginsburg! You're Our Only Hope!

Probably have to go back to the 19th century to find a SCOTUS justice who had anything less than complimentary to say about a sitting colleague.

Remember they all managed to find nice words for Scalia when he <strike>was murdered</strike> finally choked on his own lung tar. ;)

Re: SCOTUS 15: Help Us, Ruth Bader Ginsburg! You're Our Only Hope!

Anything I've ever seen about the justices suggests that they all get along a lot better than most of us would expect, and some would hope. I suppose some people still find it odd that adults can disagree on a subject, even one of great importance, and not take that disagreement personally.

I remember reading that RBG and Scalia used to get lunch together almost daily.

I remember reading that RBG and Scalia used to get lunch together almost daily.

They were both intellectuals -- who were they gonna hang out with, Rehnquist the used car salesman?

They were good friends who spent Christmases together. They both liked the opera. And I'm sure they enjoyed the company of a fellow top tier, curious intellect.

Scalia's problem was never that he was stupid.
