Eclipse sh-t. Lucky in DC so far -- clear with only a couple fluffy clouds. HAARP is doing its job oh f-ck that was a secret.

We're going to have a broken layer with thunderstorms in the area. My work is doing something for it behind our building, but I can't go since we took a call off for tonight so I could get forced to work it if I showed up...

It was mostly cloudy here but it peeked through a few cracks in the clouds. Very cool!

Perfect weather here. Those glasses better have been legit.

The amazing thing was even at 85% the ambient light was not perceivably different. God uses about 1000x times more light than He needs to illuminate the globe. Show-off. Sad!

As cool as the eclipse were the zillions of little half moons under all tree cover. It was as if the space between the leaves were a thousand waving point sources.

Youngest son and I drove 2 hrs from Hilton Head up to Yonder Field off I26. Glad we did as HH was at 98% and it got clouded over and the family that stayed behind didn't see much.

But up at Yonder, we had clear skies and we got to see a total eclipse. If you've never seen one, put it on your bucket list for April 8, 2024. It is awe inspiring.

One thing. Traffic. On the way up, we had easy traffic. On the way back, it seemed that everyone North of Daytona made the trip to South Carolina to see the eclipse. Traffic on I95 crawled. It was up to DC rush hour standards. In 2024, my choices are Watertown, Potsdam, or Plattsburgh. It's going to be an interesting choice.

I'm holding out for May 1, 2079, so I can fly my jet up to Nova Scotia. ;)

I'll be 92 if I make it. Which also gives me plenty of time to acquire the jet.

It is nuts that Carbondale, IL will have total solar eclipses a little less than seven years apart.
