We'll have to agree to disagree then. It was my opinion, as it was of other Geneseo fans I spoke to, that the team simply gave up about halfway through the 5 minute major (approximately the eight minute mark if I recall correctly). Call me an idealist, but I feel you should be playing hard for the whole 60 minutes, even if you're down by 3. Maybe Geneseo didn't toss the towel in at that point, but to me, and others, it looked like it.

Oh, they were definitely emotionally drained after that major, no question about it. And the game was, as you said, over at that point. But they still should be a ranked team, and deservedly so.

I don't have dog in this fight, but you should not be rewarded just because you played well in a loss to a ranked team. Rankings, such as they are, should reward success. A loss is not a success and needs to be balanced against the entire body of work.

Setareus Parrybus, until Salem beats UMD the Corsairs should be ranked over the Vikings.

They should also be ranked over Geneseo in perpetuity as well. :)

Teams should be rewarded for doing what they are trying to do, which is win games. That is also the reason why I will never bet on the point spread, except for a bet on an underdog that I think is going to win. Nobody tries to win a a football game by 6 points instead of 5, nobody tries to lose a football game by 20 points instead of 21. It's a fools mission to reward somebody for something they aren't trying to do. That's why my computer rankings are based on W L T records only.

I never send they should remain 10th. There are 15 slots in the USCHO poll.

By your logic, SNC should drop out...
