#1 -- Sam Avione gets his first collegiate start for Salem State vs. Worcester. Senior netminder James LaCour is a scratch with a concussion that he got in the 2nd period of the USM game on Thursday.

The game is on MASCAC TV at 2 PM ET.

#2 -- Hobart travels north to take on Oswego.

#3 Superior travels across the bridge to take on St. Scholastica this evening. This one is on www.csssaints.com.

#4 Connecticut College is at Tufts. Jumbo shots on goal?

EDIT: and may all our thoughts and prayers be with Coach Baldarotta and his family, as he was recently diagnosed with Cancer. The Cortland Webcast guy didn't go into details, but did say it seems to have been caught in time.

The WTOP Family's deepest concerns and well wishes go out to the Coach and his family. He's been a figure in D3 hockey for nearly 20 years, and we hope all goes well.

Coach Beaney stopped by while James was in the ER on his way to see his Mom. It was deeply appreciated. Their Mom and Dad raised the Beaney boys right.

Yes they did and while I don't know Bill that well : Jeff is a class act who was taught me plenty about hockey over the past 11 years...Anyway, I hope for a quick recovery for James...I also wish SSC the best of luck for the rest of the year and years to come...

At the end of one, Hobart leads Oswego 1-0. Physical period, lot of jawing. Hobart looking dominant in the first, but Oswego looks to have an edge 1 on 1 in physicality.

EDIT: Hobart's goal was on the PP, don't have who scored it off the top of my head. It's a little crazy in the control room....

Oswego once again down in the 1st intermission... Here's hoping they can actually hold onto that lead against the Lakers!

SH goal makes it Colby 3, Bowdoin 1 at the beginning of period 2
