Thanks for the updates PuckHead. I'm stuck in studio running breaks at my local station for the Cuse game. It's appreciated.
Is Hobart's rink still open on one end or is it now closed?
No, entirely enclosed now. For what it's worth, when I was there earlier in the year, it was much much colder inside the Cooler than outside, and it was about 35 degrees outside.
Goals do not count when the net is knocked off.
I remember saying that about Romney!
Really, the enclosing of the Cooler has done nothing but prevent the wind and snow to accumulate in. It's still the coldest arena I've been to (with the exception of Salmon River in Pulaski) and probably the coldest "enclosed" arena with SUNY-Cortland making a push to take the lead.
Do either of those rinks have the overhead "toasters" like Romney had?
One of the goals was in and the net wasn't off and the one with the net off was knocked off by the St. Thomas players, while the MSOE player had the puck on his stick with a wide open net. There is a continuation rule in college hockey that they can call that a goal.
My personal opinion on the series was that the two teams playing were fairly even. The games were fast and very physical. But (in my own opinion) I feel MSOE is the better team. I felt they were more physical and controlled the play for most of the weekend.
I already knew that I get text alertsSince Puckhead is the only other Islander fan on this board besides me, I feel safe in posting 1-0 Islanders over Thrashers - end 1. Matt Martin PPG with 3 min left in first.
