Sounds like the Salve Regina situation is ugly. No conference. Probably impossible to fill game schedule. Players taking to X to express frustrations. Wonder if Salve can keep the programs afloat for long if they don't find a home. Irreparable damage done on the men's side most likely after they spent 5-6 years being a relatively consistent top 20 program and making that national championship run in 2018.

I thought they had this settled. Guess I wasn't paying attention.

I don't know how they got themselves in this situation.

Meanwhile. Bryn Athyn is dropping all sports programs next year.

Sounded like Salve burnt some bridges with the CNE on the way out.

Doubt the MASCAC will be willing to take another out-of-state contender after Plymouth’s reign is finally over. That and MASCAC has been changing up their program eligibility guidelines because of football.

LEC could be an option but it seems like schedules are already being set (Norwich just has to be first). That and a 10 team conference will make it hard to add any new teams. Wonder it the LEC is going to try and replicate the old D3 ECAC with a North/South if they manage to pull in Salve and another program.

Seeing via gopherpucklive.com/transfer-portal/ that FIVE Salve players have entered the portal. Includes freshman forward Quinn Tavares who racked up 25 points (10G 15A) this season.

Not sure how they pull their info… but either way very bad sign for the Seahawks. Losing some bench players before they can develop along with a freshman who would’ve been the future of the program.

Some of these folks have figured out how to see the official transfer portal. I know gopherpucklive is one of them, so I trust their information.

Some of the names on the full D3 portal are out of date but still impressive they managed to have that info. Definitely interesting to see some familiar names from MASCAC and around New England listed.

We're up to 15 new Salve Regina men's hockey players into the portal...and that doesn't give us insight into how recruiting is going...

There are 0 women's Salve players in the portal right now which is puzzling

What a fall for Salve… wow

Wonder where a lot of these guys will end up going. Salve’s managed to compete against some top-level teams and hold their own, and didn’t even realize they made it to the championship in 2018. Unless they quickly change course Salve is falling into irrelevance, and even any change is likely to late.

I see Curry goaltender Shane Soderwall in the portal. With the portal can D3 plyers now move up to D1 and have immediate eligibility, or do they still need to sit a season?

Two more decent goaltenders in the D3 portal from St. Olaf and Norwich.

Unless the rules are different for men than women they don't need to sit. Zsofia Pazmandi, Mikah Baptiste and Ann-Frederique Guay all went D1 and played immediately...

That's what I thought. Side note/questions: do players looking to transfer HAVE TO enter the portal for visibility to all teams, or can they essentially withdraw from their current school, enroll somewhere else, and simply join the hockey team?

I'm not sure, I don't think so because I don't think the midseason transfers entered the portal...I suspect that at DIII its more about visibility
