RPI vs. UAA 10/16/09 (Brice Alaska Goal Rush)

Re: RPI vs. UAA 10/16/09 (Brice Alaska Goal Rush)

Had some decent scoring opportunities that period. The third goal could be a killer. Still 20 minutes left to play, let's make the most of it.

lol, have we forgotten how bad they were 2 years ago? very young team not used to playing with each other yet - lot of mistiming on the passes. i'd rather have them work the kinks out now and have them hit their stride come ECAC Nov 6. these games now don't mean squat.

2nd period winds down-RPI trails 3-0 and seems to have left their offense on the plane

I really thought they outplayed UAA for much of that period though. I wonder what the shots were?

Back from the women's game. RPI lost 1-0 but looked pretty good in the loss. Held it in the Mercyhurst zone for most of the last 5 minutes but just couldn't get one in the net.

As for this game, listened on and off while at the women's game and now back here for the rest. To the best of my knowledge the mandatory 5 and game for CFB is an NCAA-wide rule. Individual conferences don't choose what penalties to enforce, it's the same NCAA rulebook that everyone follows.

You sure? I seem to remember 2 minute HFB penalties during the UMASS game.

We are extremely young on offense and we are still just missing a lot-looks like it could take a bunch of games for these guys to start to connect. I think this is one year that we will improve as the season goes on-unlike the past 3 years where we just stunk and continued to stink all season (until the league playoffs last season).

You're right Tim, no reason for a horn when a team comes out. For a goal, I understand.

Too bad, they deserve better.

There was very little promotion of this, from my perspective at least. Granted I'm not on campus anymore but the Facebook group for the game only had like 100 members, and they didn't even post anything about it being Pack the House Night on rpiathletics.com until yesterday.
