RPI vs St. Lawrence: Saturday, 11/14/09

Re: RPI vs St. Lawrence: Saturday, 11/14/09

Somebody describe the flow of the game for me. I turned on the TV in my hotel room and flipped the channels but didn't find it.

Re: RPI vs St. Lawrence: Saturday, 11/14/09

Second period winds down with RPI still clinging to a 1-0 lead. Sounded like we just survived that period as the best chances were all SLU and most of the play in the RPI zone.

Re: RPI vs St. Lawrence: Saturday, 11/14/09

Second period ends and we owe York all the credit for keeping us up 1-0.
Outshot 26-11. We need to pick it up in the third if we are going to complete the sweep this weekend.

I had listened a bit earlier to a pretty good game in Princeton as Harvard tied them at 3-3. It really seems that this year in the ECAC anyone can beat anyone else and that every game will be so much more important in the final standings. You cannot afford to take it easy against anyone.

RPI outshot 21-3 in the second. :o

We have been outshot in several games this year in the second period-almost seems like we relax after getting a first period lead. Thankfully we did not give up the tying goal and hopefully we come out and play a much better last 20 minutes.

I was having a similar thought, DrD. I agree completely. If we were to agree that we typically laid off in the third period in the previous two seasons, then perhaps a tactical adjustment was made to save energy and stamina for the third. Whatever the formula, it's working for us so far.

Add SLU to the list of schools polluted by "Sweet Caroline" played over the PA between periods.

Terrible.

Agreed. I'm at the Yale Colgate game. After beating Cornell last night Yale is behind 3-2 but outshooting gate 29-13.

Re: RPI vs St. Lawrence: Saturday, 11/14/09

This pair of refs called it real tight yesterday with a bunch of penalties-it remains to be seen if they do the same tonight-play smart boys and stay out of the box

Re: RPI vs St. Lawrence: Saturday, 11/14/09

RPI penalty number 2-hold the fort and do not give them an excuse to call another

Re: RPI vs St. Lawrence: Saturday, 11/14/09

RPI penalty number 3-hold the fort-sure sounds like they are evening them up now
