RPI vs AIC 10/24/09

Re: RPI vs AIC 10/24/09

Just got back in... turned on TW3 and saw the GWG by D'Amigo... a real goal scorer's goal. :D Thye found a way to win! They were talking w/ SA at end of game and I didn't catch the reference to an ankle injury to an Engineer...

No penalties for RPI... they outshot AIC 37-18.

Re: RPI vs AIC 10/24/09

Will always take a weekend sweep and a penalty-free game. Still, both wins probably should have been sealed before the third period. You can't always count on these late-game heroics, as good as the new kids have been.

I don't know if it's a conditioning issue, but this team seems to be coming out with guns blazing and then completely running out of gas just past the halfway point. We'll know for sure how serious it is when conference play starts.

For now, enjoy the good start!

alex is my new hero although he still appears to be hallucinating during games:D

Did you really think the officiating tilted our way tonight? We were skating circles around AIC for most of the game ... and that's a situation that leads to the other team often getting more penalties called on them.

But we average over 18 penalty minutes per game so far this year-and tonight we got Zippo. That will probably be the only time we can say that for a long time.

It's definitely an anomaly, but I think it was deserved.

Re: RPI vs AIC 10/24/09

If I did this correctly, last night was +2. Tonight looks to be +2 as well (3+, 1-). So, if I did it right, it's +4 for the weekend.

Close - even though he was on the ice for all 3 RPI goals tonight, the game-winning goal for RPI was a power play goal, which doesn't count toward the +/- ratings. So he was 2+, 1- tonight for a net +1 tonight.

Still, 2 goals, 2 assists, and a +3 for the weekend is great as a freshman.
