RPI & Union @ Brown & Yale (1/29, 1/30)

Re: RPI & Union @ Brown & Yale (1/29, 1/30)

Sorry, but I'm including memorable RPI Hockey moments not at HFH:

If we're doing that...

- 2012 ECAC First Round vs. Clarkson (Games 2 and 3) - Yeah, we lost the triple OT game, but come on. Triple overtime. Conducting the band through 115 minutes of hockey, quasi-bonding with Clarkson fans as we all realized we were watching something historic, and that god**** bounce off the end boards into Bryce's leg. Of course, it was all made more palatable with the win the following night. Winning playoff series is so much more fun than losing them. We should do it more, maybe even in Troy!

-2012 at Cornell (their senior night) - The late tying goal sucking all of the air out of Lynah followed by Paddy Cullen ending it in the waning moments of OT was glorious. It was almost fun getting cut off during Hey Baby! by the rink staff.

-2011 NCAA Regional Semifinal vs. North Dakota - Another losing effort, but I wouldn't trade the experience for the world. I suppose this is more of a Pep Band moment than an RPI Hockey moment, but still. Plus, I'll never forget the PA announcer calling Merriam for slashing, despite Bryce being firmly seated on the bench.

Ask those that hate the association threads. :p

As far as I can tell, the whole thing started with me saying I wasn't going to Brown and that I'd never been there. Then the association took over: Arenas visited -> ranking arenas -> Why we like HFH -> great HFH moments -> great RPI moments. We're not that far divorced from the games. My top moment was even an RPI-Brown game!

Tad's steak house. I was only a teenager, but steak baked potato and garlic bread for $1.25. Then on to the Garden for hockey.
Where did the time go???

Oh boy have you hit a home run!!! Now we go to Mustang Harry's and walk 1/2 block to the Garden but the cost is a wee bit higher. Last year for Jen and I dinner and drinks (only 2 each) was over $150 and for a change, I paid.

And lots of gristle. :)

If you're going to Yale and looking for a place to eat, there are a number of places to consider along York Street between Wall & Elm Streets. It's a short drive to Ingalls Rink on Sachem.

And don't forget to check out the newest WaP... it's Pipeline time. :D

That's like a 250 ft. long stretch of road with what? Mory's and Yorkside Pizza? Along with Ashley's and a Blue State, but those are dessert/coffee. I guess you could go to Toad's if you wanted to catch an STD from an undergrad...

I guess two is a number.

A little younger, we used to go to Brew and Burger, pay for the burger and the Schaefer drafts were free.

Using her credit card?? ;)
I have done that often for steaming games on the internet but never for paying for dinner!! Well, maybe once or twice. And i have used to on occasion to buy collectible watches and jewelry (but only when they are above my limits).;)

Hey, it could be like a story I once heard where a guy was taking his now wife out to dinner, didn't have enough to pay, but one of his exes happened to be a waitress and helped with the tab.

Re: RPI & Union @ Brown & Yale (1/29, 1/30)

If my wife ever caught me watching steaming games on the internet.... (unless it were a cooking show on how to prepare vegetables!)

;)
Jen could care less about most things I do. She knows after all this time that 1) I am not going anywhere 2)Where could I ever do better? and 3) Who would ever want me or put up with me? She is the one watching cooking shows but mostly because there is just so little else on the tube worth it. Fish, I will say it here as I have in the past, I could have never made a better choice and she is not only responsible for at least 50% of any success that I have and has gotten me through some of the worst episodes anyone could ever suffer. And the topper, she is a rabid RPI hockey fan!!!
