RPI Recruit Thread 2025-2026

Very true doc. The skill and compete has to match the size. If he can skate at the D1 level then he’s worth a hard look. At His size he should be a point per game player in the bchl. I’m sure the staff will be watching closely and if he doesn’t produce this year time to look elsewhere. I’m not sold on him he reminds me of a Finn brown type player. 4th line grinder which we don’t need. Way too many good players available now.
NZ has him + for strength and skating - often a struggle for the big guys. He was 7th in team scoring for a good Trail team last year, that included Lemieux, Ziliotto and Matthews. . Much of the art of recruiting is where coaches think a player is on his development curve. A guy with that size who can move is not someone you come across every day...we'll see if the offense improves further this year.

I think we will end up keeping him. He was a raw prospect when he committed in the first place, and then he had a late growth spurt to go from 6'4 to 6'6. Bigger players take longer to develop. Wouldn't be surprised if he breaks out this year.

If he’s good enough this is the year for him to put up numbers. Third year in a weakened bchl he should be a top guy for trail if not he’s Finn brown 2.0. I’m definitely intrigued by Carter Matthews however.

Ralph, would it be possible to put who each guy was recruited by, Smith or Lang? In the end, they’re all Engineers when they get here, but maybe for development purposes.

You can tell by the commitment data. Gosselin is the only Lang recruit at the moment.
