RPI Recruit Thread 2016-17 Part II

That leaves York and Ohrvall still not there. I wonder if they are having trouble getting something approved about EO's courses in Sweden. Coach Smith was obviously confident enough that he would get approved to announce the incoming class.

Re: RPI Recruit Thread 2016-17 Part II

The All Star game for the U17 Development Camp will be on Friday morning. The rosters won't be announced until then. I give MC a good chance of playing since he finished tied for 8th in scoring and about 20% of the participants will be selected. (There were 10 teams at the tourney.)

I don't know when I will post since I will be in and out of home during the day, but I will of course. :)

Hopefully things go OK; I'm sort of looking forward to "The Swedish Connection". ;)

I suspect so. I just don't think that Coach Smith would have posted if he wasn't just about certain. Of course I do remember Dillon, but that was a different problem.

Me too, but so it goes.

3 of his forward teammates on White made it, I wonder if they limit the players per team for the ASG. One of those players had 0 points during the festival, so the points don't really seem to matter when it comes to selecting for the ASG.

As an aside, I think we were recruiting one of these 3 teammates before he committed elsewhere recently. At least Coach Smith appears to be going for some decent players.

I suspect that a very significant factor was lot knowledge and viewings of the players, This week's tourney wasn't in a vacuum.

Re: RPI Recruit Thread 2016-17 Part II

DiPietro didn't blow anyone away but it's obvious to see he is a battler, making a few very nice saves throughout the session. He plays very aggressive and will need to learn how to manage his net a little better to be an NHL goalie. I actually think the two FA's Beck Warm and Linden Marshall looked quite good as well. Maybe it was just a good goalie day overall but there were definitely some shooters on the ice today unlike the last few Prospects Camps I've been too..........The one FA that I liked besides Marshall in net was another College player and former BCHLer in Adam Brubacher. Big kid that skates well and has a heavy heavy shot. He will sign a pro deal somewhere out of College after his Junior or Senior season I bet. (Brubacher plays for RIT BTW) https://www.reddit.com/r/canucks/comments/6lbgxz/update_on_prospects_from_tuesdays_on_ice_session/

I am sure that it is on order if it has not arrived already. :)

Orders have been placed not sure the merchandise has arrived.

Thanks. :) I just recalled Hockeyhound emailing me over the summer before his son's first season that his son's equipment was ordered.

This is from this afternoon’s session (same writer)....... Still think Linden Marshall is the best goalie at camp but that could have a lot to do with his size, age and the fact he has 2-3 years of College waiting for him. He reminds me a lot of another former BCHLer Angus Redmond who signed with Anaheim after one season of NCAA puck. Wouldn't shock me to see this kid sign a deal somewhere in the next few seasons. Then again with goalies, he could play 20 games over 4 seasons and never play pro. I'm counting on Option A if these reports are gonna be any good!
