Hey everyone - just wondering if Modry might be considered a risk at this point. I had thought his NHL dad had helped out SA a few seasons ago behind the bench and that the commitment came as a result of that relationship...with Seth now gone - who knows?

I don't think that he is much of a risk. Remember that his mother is from the Capital District. Also considering his performance, it's more of a risk that Smith isn't interested in him. However someone following Wenatchee said that he was fitting in well. So we will see.

All good points. As Ralph knows, I’ve been communicating with the PxP guy for Wenatchee and he saw great improvement through the year for JM. He felt he adjusted to the speed as the season went on & it may have taken a bit of time for him to adjust to his growth. He is a legit 6’4 3/4” & that can be problematic for a then 17yr. old to adjust to.

I just hope that what the play-by-play guy said is correct. We will see if he is not a frequent healthy scratch next year like he was this season. Wenatchee had 8 D on their roster and dressed 7 most of the time, often without JM.

In any case, I don't expect JM to leave the fold due to his action. If we lose him it is much more likely that Smith doesn't want him. I assume that Smith now knows more about JM than we do.
