Out of curiousity, I added up all the points of our known recruits (not counting Dillon):

And "yes" there is a connection to Gordon Bombay - a character whose "back story" is briefly mentioned in the original movie, parallels also the story of her grandfather's brief hockey career at Bemidji State.

Edit: a little digging into a BSU media guide shows that there was a defenseman named Harry Bombay on BSU's roster in 67-68 who apparently did not get into any games.

If anyone but you and I are watching. :) He was in the starting lineup and got some nice comments from the color guy in the early play. (I don't know if I will be able to take the PBP announcer's screaming for the whole game.)

Done. Another nice breakaway, but his stick broke. I suspect that JH looks better than he usually does in games like this which have little checking. OTOH, he looked pretty good in the RBC last year.

On Tuesday, Canada East lost to Canada West in the CJHL Prospects Game 3-2 on a very late goal. Jacob Hayhurst scored a goal. http://ojhl_site.stats.pointstreak.com/boxscore.html?gameid=2617647

JH showed a lot of speed. He had a couple of breakaways including one late in the first but was stopped. He does need to get bigger. I hope that he goes to the USHL next year.
There was more size on the West team overall.


The screaming PBP announcer is Trenton's announcer. It's a good thing that they apparently don't broadcast on line. OTOH, the colorman does PBP for both the Toronto Patriots and North York. I could tolerate him.
