Re: RPI Recruit Thread 2013-14

It would be nice, very nice, and he is listed as taller, but it would be an immense coup on SA's part to get him. Sort of like had we gotten Tinordi's brother, and he didn't go to Major Junior.

As it turned out-we got the Tinordi with the far better college career.:)

Re: RPI Recruit Thread 2013-14

The Edmonton Oil Kings of the WHL have traded for the rights to Alec Dillon......http://www.oilkings.ca/article/oil-kings-deal-shmoorkoff-to-broncos/153848
Thanks for digging that up. The fact that there is a conditional pick involved indicates they aren't sure they can get him. I hope that SA knows about this and is saying all the correct things. :) Dillon's recent performance has certainly been impressive and it makes sense that the WHL is interested.

I know with a player like him, you make room, but we seem to be doing OK on d-men until 2016, by which time he'd be 20 and I'm certain that he'll have plenty of offers that will see him coming in a year earlier than that.

On Louie, I remember seeing him decommit from Minnesota in September and read about the circumstances of his decision - and I thought, "you know, RPI would be a perfect landing spot away from the Minnesota scrutiny..." :)

Appert must have left a good impression on him at the 2011 Hlinka.

Is it clear that Tyler Nanne is going to play defense in college? He has played both in the past.

Re: RPI Recruit Thread 2013-14

On Friday, the Sioux Falls Stampede defeated the Dubuque Fighting Saints 3-0. Louis Nanne did not dress. He is still injured. http://ushl2011.stats.pointstreak.com/boxscore.html?gameid=2235438

Nanne's line is now 0-0-0-0-0.

I am not going to post these short summaries of Sioux Falls' games until Nanne plays, which is either next month or January depending upon what you believe. I will continue to update the date of SFS's next game. I probably shouldn't post Sudbury's results either until Bell returns, but I keep hoping that it is imminent.

May not have to wait very long, per Nanne's twitter, it sounds like he'll be playing tonight.

Tweet from Louis Nanne https://twitter.com/lounanne11/status/406884080760795136:

Having two shoulder surgeries this summer was just a minor setback for a major comeback.. First game in 8 months.
Play ball! :D

Also a tweet with an RPI hash tag https://twitter.com/lounanne11/status/406557074567352320:
Excited to become my own 'Louie'. I've spent 18 years being 'Lou Nanne's grandson' and now I am becoming my own person! #RPI #Blessed

I am firmly of the opinion that you can never have enough D men. Of course i would like them all to be Curadi-sized.:)

Re: RPI Recruit Thread 2013-14

On Friday, the Sudbury Nickel Barons lost to the Kirkland Lake Gold Miners 7-5. Bradley Bell did not play. He is apparently still injured. http://www.nojhl.com/game/game_sheet/5425528

Bell's line is now 18-7-6-13-10.

Sudbury must have set a record for most too-little-too-late rallys this season.
they'll need one tonight....Sudbury's losing 7-2 after 2. BB's not in the lineup. BTW, neither is Moore or Melanson in their game vs each other.

Yes to all of that. Sudbury is also playing with a short lineup -- only 13 skaters.

Also ET has only an assist so far today so wouldn't warrant a star, but I suspect all the stars will again go to Muskegon. :)
