When Union signed Connor Light, supposedly beating out RPI, I felt that we were not interested in him for 2014 since we already had as many defensemen recruited as we were losing. Now that we have a commitment from Wilson, I am not nearly as sure about that.

BTW, Melanson has a holding penalty. Hopefully he has a more normal total of penalties this year.

....not quite the 1st goal of the USHL season but for ET, 1st shot... 1st goal. 1min. into 2nd and now he has 1st assist (SH at that)

Good to see that he is killing penalties. When small forwards kill penalties, it usually indicates that they are quick. We already knew that he is quick, but confirmation is good.

Melanson's preseason line is now 4-0-2-2-2.

I'm not so sure this game went to OT. Poinstreak was jumbled for awhile but it showed Gamez for Tri- City scoring in the 3rd with 23 seconds left.....unimportant I suppose.

It is certainly not important as far as we are concerned. That box shows it as an OT goal, but I do question that a penalty shot was awarded in overtime, so it could indeed be messed up. (How many penalty shots are awarded in OT?)


Edit: it's probably correct as it now says Final. Also since it was a preseason game, the Refs probably are more likely to call penalty shots in OT.

I remember one SH penalty shot awarded in OT a few years ago :)
