RPI Recruit Thread 2013-14 (Part II)

Re: RPI Recruit Thread 2013-14 (Part II)

If you look at that story, they have Hayhurst committed to playing at RPI in 2015, not 2016.

That's interesting considering that the press release said 2016.

And I wrote to Chris Heisenberg pointing out that it said 2016 and he changed it.

Re: RPI Recruit Thread 2013-14 (Part II)

Hmmm. It looks like both MP and Jacob could be coming in together in '15.

It's also quite possible that MP will come in 2014. The arrival year of each is far from certain.

BTW, I am still most impressed that MP only had one minor penalty all year, and that was very early in the season. That won't stop fans of a certain other team from describing him as a goon. ;)

Re: RPI Recruit Thread 2013-14 (Part II)

Worth mentioning that JH himself says he's coming in 2016.

Who knows anymore? At least it creates a little bit of drama for the annual press release about the freshman class.

Good point as to what JH has on his Twitter page.

I think that there are a lot of question marks as to who is showing up in the fall. WaP's speculations are as good as any, but we could still be surprised. I added a while ago "The years the men's recruits are listed as committed for are not necessarily accurate" to my weekly listing of recruits' heights, DOBs, etc. They aren't my guesses but what Heisenberg has in general. No comment about the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principal

Post #242....... Austin Cho Toronto Marlboros: I like this kids game. He is pretty steady. He has good size. He has good stick work, poke checking, knocking pucks away. I can see alot more growth come out of his game this year. His backward skating jumped out at me. His backward crossover is technically sound and helps him change angles very well. With that skill, driving wide on him is very difficult. He closes the gap well. He makes some good decisions too, nice outlet passes. He is inconsistent at times........... http://hfboards.hockeysfuture.com/showthread.php?t=1158831&page=10 ........This Post is from 2012.

32. Austin Cho, LD, #19 St. Andrew’s College (5/19/97 – 11th grade) 6-0/175 – Good Div. I prospect. Skates well and has size and decent hands. Scored on a nice one-timer. Not quite skilled enough to be an offensive defenseman at the Div. I level, and not really rugged enough to be a stay-at-home guy. However, he has time enough to become a decent hybrid of the two. Was Sault Ste. Marie’s 12th round pick in the 2013 OHL draft..... http://www.ushr.com/news/20131101

The dates on which some of the women are listed as committing on may be considerably after the actual dates.

Re: RPI Recruit Thread 2013-14 (Part II)

I used the stats for Cho from all games that St. Andrews plays http://www.sac.on.ca/athletics/teamstats.aspx?TeamID=649 not just the league games in the link that turk gave http://cisaa_site.stats.pointstreak.com/playerpage.html?playerid=7233742&seasonid=11703. They play in two leagues (CISAA and MPHL) plus tourney games. Weird. Turk linked his CISAA stats.

There are some recent games that are missing. See the schedule. Some are included in turk's link, but I will wait until this is filled in. It will be "missing games" like most of the women's teams.

FWIW, Tom Hussey, a member of the 1985 NCAA championship team, played for St. Andrews. He was a freshman that year and didn't play in Detroit. He was an NHL draft choice (Rangers) and left during the next season, transferring to MTU.

Edit: Also Jordan Cyr. Both were captains http://www.sac.on.ca/news/detail.as...LinkID=1015&ModuleID=68&&TeamID=649&NEWSPID=1.

Edit^2: also Christian Morissette. http://www.sac.on.ca/data/files/news/TeamHistory/Where_have_they_gone__University4.pdf

This is a bad omen for Cho. Three previous SAC players as far as I can tell and none graduated from RPI.

Re: RPI Recruit Thread 2013-14 (Part II)

Since Hayhurst and Prapavessis are both from Mississauga and born the same year, I would think that they know each other even though Mississauga has a population of some 700,000.

Edit: They played in the same Midget league last year.

BTW, if Prapavessis was lobbying his teammate to come to RPI, that might be a good sign that he's planning to spurn London, which is good to hear.
