Re: RPI Recruit Thread 2013-14 (Part II)

Bell still committed to RPI, but calls Wolves' overture 'interesting' ...... http://www.nojhl.com/news_article/show/327601?referrer_id=599254

My biggest concern is that assuming that Bell is not going to Troy next fall, he will have to leave Sudbury to develop next season. That's when the Wolves might look good to him. I assume that SA and company are impressing him with the benefits of a college education especially to a shorter defenseman.

Tomlinson's stats at SPS are from short game summaries and probably omit some assists.

Re: RPI Recruit Thread 2013-14 (Part II)

He certainly is thin, not that we didn't know. He is the tallest goalie on the list but only 4 lbs heavier than the lightest.

I was thin once too-my solution was to marry an Italian who can cook. Years later I was trying every diet i knew to get the weight back down. It took a long time but I think i can get into my RPI gym shorts again.:) I would not worry about him-he's young-things will fill out once he discovers Woodchuck Cider, Stella Artois, etc.

I am not worried about his weight. I just found it odd that he was the tallest and one of the lightest.

I am more concerned about the possibility that we will lose one or more of Dillon, Bell, and Prapavessis to major junior. Although none individually is probably likely to go, I wouldn't count out the distinct possibility of losing one.

Agree-I do not think the odds individually are not that high, but when you sum up the total for the 3-one leaving becomes a bit too likely for my taste. I think these are all quality recruits-and you just never know how things will shake out when you have kids with this level of talent.

Of course the alternative is to recruit poorer players. We can't have both.

Re: RPI Recruit Thread 2013-14 (Part II)

I wonder what the circumstances were that Georgetown would put in their backup goalie with 46sec. left in a 6-1 blowout.

They pulled him after the fourth goal (third in the second period) and put him back in 34 seconds later when TLP scored on its next shot. It surprised me that they didn't leave the backup in longer. Perhaps he injured himself trying to make the save.

Edit: The open question is why they gave the backup the number 3 star for the effort or lack thereof.
