Never can tell what the NCAA will come up with next-so nothing is out of the question. But if it makes good sense, then of course they probably won't do it.

Actually, I don't think the 1 year or 3 year minimum in football and basketball is even a NCAA rule. It's actually a NFL/NBA rule, but I'm sure was partially provoked by the NC$$.

I am pretty sure that is correct, or at least it was originally. Conceivably the NCAA also now has a rule, although probably not.

I think the only rules they have with regards to eligibility is the one year break if you transfer between schools, the NLI, and all of the others we've come to know and love.

None of those, however, have anything to do with minimum age. There is a rule against playing junior hockey past one's 21st birthday (assuming one is not in a degree program at a college), but that is maximum, not minimum age.

I believe after 21 years of age, your sports eligibility begins to dwindle as well. Obviously you can take classes any time you want, but playing sports is a different story.

There are a lot of players who enter college past their 21st birthday and have a full 4 years of eligibility. For example, Bryce Merriam was born on 1/6/88 and was 21 when he entered in 2009. Although he played junior hockey past his 21st birthday, he did not lose a year of eligibility (but he lost the ability to redshirt) because he was in a junior college.

Edit: The crucial point is that Merriam was in a degree program (which he may not of finished). His 5 years to play 4 had started to tick, so he couldn't redshirt, but he had not lost the right to play four years.

On Wednesday, the Boston Bandits lost to the Junior Bruins 5-2. Jake Soffer did not play. http://www.easternjunior.com/game/game_sheet/3612701

Soffer's line is now 40-9-12-2-2.79-.917. actually played in 27 games

Edina plays its first Section Tourney game this evening. Preview

The only mention of Reno is that he has a lot of playoff experience.

The Hornets were superb early in the season, when they were dismantling opponents with all the subtlety of a sledgehammer.
