Have 2 kids here in NJ I have been watching that I wish we had an interest in. Alex Hagerty of Delbarton and Andrew Reiss of Brick High. Hagerty is obviously going someplace-it is just not known where as yet. Kid is too good not to have been noticed for some time now. Reiss caught my attention at a game this year when he scored 7 goals (I am not sure I have ever seen anyone score 2 natural hat tricks in one game!) but as with many of the NJ boys, the competition level is not that high.

Unbelievable! I am going to have to find some DC-area kids to tout to counteract you and WS. :p

Actually, considering how little hockey is played around here, the fact we have gotten Cullen and Tinordi, as well as several women players, in recent years is quite impressive.

The game has changed-talent can come from anywhere. We had Jim Dowd at Lake Superior from down here in Brick years ago and of course our own Cindy Acropolis at RPI. I know the competition our girls played then was different and i wonder how Cindy would have done in today's ECAC-but i suspect she would have still been a star.

Indeed the game has changed and we are smart to recruit everywhere, but some areas play a higher level of hockey. I watched part of Edina's game last night and I can't believe that either NJ or DC is remotely comparable.

The rest of my post will be in white since it is off topic. :p

I don't know if Acropolis would have been a star, and she certainly wouldn't have put up the numbers that she did if she played D-I (indeed her numbers declined during her career at RPI as RPI's level of play improved), but she certainly would have been a valuable player.
