Re: RPI Recruit Thread 2011-12 Part II

Do you have any information on either of these recruits? Current team, stats, draft status etc?

I doubt that either was drafted or someone would have signed them earlier, but I will look. They are 92's, so this will be their last year of eligibilty. As to current teams and stats, I just posted the information. Both teams finished their regular seasons.

The odds are the both are on partial scholarships.

Re: RPI Recruit Thread 2011-12 Part II

We now have 8(9) Dmen next season depending what Bergin does and 15 forwards. So I think its quite possible we could be done recruiting for next season, which means Bubela might be spending another season in Dubuque.

I am not betting against Bubela coming since we have 16 forwards this season.

Not sure if it makes a difference but we also have an extra scholarship goalie coming in along with one more Dman then we had this season. I guess it all depends how the scholarship money is spread around next season.

It does make a difference, and I certainly don't know how the money is split. I have always guessed that Rabbani was getting minority student money, and it is doubtful that any of the new recruits will. I am almost certain now that Bergin is leaving, but past that, who knows. Conceivably an existing player intends to leave (hope not).

I am sure that even at Ferris State they now how to count to 18 and the use of fractions. ;)

I am almost certain now that Bergin is leaving...

Bergin's father came up to me after Senior Night and, among other things, said that his son was graduating, which pretty much cemented it in my mind that he wouldn't be returning.

Re: RPI Recruit Thread 2011-12 Part II

Sounds like Bokenfohr is a decent pickup, heres some scouts comments on him prior to the 2010 WJAC.

Craig Bokenfohr: raw talent ... great size ... physically strong ... good skater ... good mobility for size ... can be intimidating shutdown defenceman ... does not rush decisions ... does not panic under pressure ... makes a good breakout pass ... hard shot.

Also fwiw, he's a right shot Dman, I believe Bailen is the only other right shot Dman currently on the RPI roster.

Thanks for the information on the two new recruits.

As for next season, I would be surprised to see three scholarship goalies. My guess would be that if they bring in Kasdorf, or soemone else, that Diebold would leave.

That's better than this Camrose fan (sounds like some RPI fans) http://hockeytalk.net/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?t=9761#p83328
Please tell me....Is it just me or is Craig Bokenfohr the weakest defensemen in the league? Im taking about turn overs, scared to get hit, scared to give a hit etc. Im really sorry kodiak fans and I will still continue to go to games as long as there is a team in Camrose but this is the worst defensive core I have seen in my 7 years watching.

Or conceivably, we'll never see Kasdorf in the cherry and white.

What is the cut-off for losing NCAA eligibility due to age? Is it if you're 21 years of age by the first day of classes? If so, Kasdorf could delay a year (and given his performance in the USHL, might not be too bad of an idea).

I don't think that will be a problem. Note that there are early 1991 on CH's list for this season (e.g. check Union ;) ). He loses a year of eligibility of he plays Junior after he turns 21 which isn't until next May. (And he can get around that by taking classes in a college in a degree program and not playing hockey there. He'll only lose the chance or red shirting in the future.) The problem is that I really doubt that his "family advisor" would advise that route.

RHamilton, you can add one game to Fulton's total. He played one game with no points or penalties for Georgetown at the start of the season.

Re: RPI Recruit Thread 2011-12 Part II

On Wednesday, Gunnery Prep defeated Westminster 2-1. Jake Wood had no points.

Woods line is now 24-9-19-28-x
