Good luck to Guy Lebeouf in Arizona Coyotes Rookie Camp. And of course, Allen York, who’s heading to the Tampa Bay Lightings’ main camp. Saw Yorkie Saturday @ the football game...looks in great shape, said he feels great & is looking forward to a FULL season with 1 club.
Beef was let go today as Arizona starts their main camp.

Turk-with Stepan fracturing his fibula, I count about 14-15 forwards that are almost a lock to stay with the team ahead of RH. I suspect he is competing with about 5 others to move up into that group. That is really pretty good odds for him. Unlikely to stick this year but you never know.

Brandon Pirri scored a go-ahead goal in the third period for the Panthers in last night's exhibition game.

The game ended up going to a shootout, in which Pirri was the first shooter for the Panthers (though, unfortunately, he did not score).

The Hockey News' season preview issue lists Pirri as no better than a fifth-line forward for Florida, but I've got to wonder, if they've got that many forwards better than Pirri, why weren't any of them picked to be first in the shootout?

Not to dump on Pirri, but it's a preseason game, so a number of the better forwards were almost definitely not playing. Also, good forward for 5x5 play does not equal good forward for penalty shot/shootout.

Jan Levine.... Following Friday's game, about 30 cuts should come Saturday or Sunday, culling the team down to a more manageable group for evaluations over the last four pre-season contests....http://www.hockeybuzz.com/blog/Jan-Levine/Rangers-update/89/62582

RH may have the tools to eventually be able to stick with the parent club, but no doubt they will find he needs some further experience and seasoning. It is just great to see some of our boys gets a shot though. He is explosive enough though to turn some heads and I would love to see him have a great game tonight.

BP has a lot of NHL level skills but it may be difficult at his size to stand up to the everyday wear and tear. He is up against some very big strong boys who can also skate as fast and as well as he does. Strength and conditioning and packing on some muscle mass may be the determining factor in how long his career in the NHL will be. In any case, i love the fact that we have some boys up there and in the AHL to watch and follow.
