RPI Pick to Click 2014-15: Under New Management

Re: RPI Pick to Click 2014-15: Under New Management

I'm still missing 6 of you with 6 hours, 50 minutes remaining until puck drop.

Also, FlagDUDE, I take it you're going for the double QS since you're so sure tonight will be a tie?

I'm actually going for the full ten; I have one of those Jamaica feelings that the final score will be 0-0.

The last RPI 0-0 game seems to have been on 1/29/1927 vs. Amherst. It was our fourth. :)

Closest we've come in recent history was vs. Sacred Heart in 2007; ended up winning in overtime 1-0. There have been a few other late goal 1-0 games in recent memory, too.

Re: RPI Pick to Click 2014-15: Under New Management

Congrats to RPIHFH on the weekly win and for climbing out of last place, though the two people ahead of you not making any picks certainly helped.

Friday saw two posters nail the best possible picks (though there were a few different combinations that worked). RPI had four players worth 2 PtC points (Laliberte originally had 3, but his "goal" was later awarded to McGowan): Milos Bubela (1 G; TuteScrooge), Jacob Laliberte (2 A; RPIHFH, burgie12, lugnut92), Mark McGowan (1 G; no one), and Jared Wilson (1 A; no one). On the other side of the puck, Matthew Peca (RPIHFH, lugnut92, engineerhockeyfan) netted a goal and two assists to be Quinnipiac's best skater. Neither goalie earned the quality start, but Michael Garteig (FlagDUDE08) also scored 4 PtC points by assisting on Peca's goal.
Saturday saw a much better effort out of the Engineers as they broke a number of streaks that they'd like to keep broken. Curtis Leonard (ineligible) was far and away the best RPI skater, putting up 7 PtC points like a good captain should. The best eligible Engineers were Matt Neal (1G, 1A; no one) and Chris Bradley (1 G; no one). Jason Kasdorf (Ralph Baer, engineerhockeyfan) earned the quality start. Princeton's Tom Kroshus (no one) put home both Tiger goals in the losing effort.

Re: RPI Pick to Click 2014-15: Under New Management

Link back to the first post with details on scoring

With the losing streak at an end, RPI seeks to forge a winning streak against the Central NY travel pair. Colgate currently sits in position to earn an ECAC bye, while Cornell would be packing bags to hit the road for the first round of the playoffs if they began today (that said, the Big Red are 7th in point percentage and have at least one game in hand on seven other ECAC teams).

Picks must be in by 7:00 ET on Friday.

You may NOT choose the following players for this weekend:
RPI: Drew Melanson and Curtis Leonard
Colgate: Tyson Spink and Spiro Goulakos
Cornell: Joel Lowry and Patrick McCarron

Statistics and Rosters
RPI: Statistics | Roster
Colgate: Statistics | Roster (Beware Tyl. / Tys. Spink confusion, especially since Tyson is ineligible)
Cornell: Statistics | Roster (Beware J. / P. McCarron confusion, especially since Patrick is ineligible)

Neither goalie earned the quality start, but Michael Garteig (FlagDUDE08) also scored 4 PtC points by assisting on Peca's goal.

I believe that's the definition of a "suck out". Given it keeps you and me neck-and-neck, I'll take it.

RPI: Milos Bubela
My "community team": Charlie Finn

RPI: Viktor Liljegren
Supports the Unsafe Act: Tough one, because they've been alternating... gotta try Hayden Stewart.
