Re: RPI Pick to Click 2013-14: Revenge of the Nerds

Congratulations to Ralph! He scores on three of his four picks to get his first weekly win of the season. His win gives him the overall lead as well, the fourth different poster with the most overall points in the past three game weekends.

The Engineers' goal on Friday came from an unlikely source, with the BRO scoring RPI's lone tally. Luke Curadi, unsurprisingly, was not a popular choice in PtC, with nobody picking him or DeVito, so it was just posters who picked Higgs who got a point. Princeton had four players earn two PtC points. The Tigers got goals from Mike Ambrosia and Tyler Maugeri. Tom Kroshus had the secondary assist on Maugeri's power play tally and Colton Phinney earned himself a win. Only two posters got points from the Tigers. FlagDUDE picked Phinney (BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!) and RPIHFH got a point from Kesselman, who had an assist on the game-winner.

The men of Troy did not fare much better on Saturday in Connecticut. Matt Neal (myself, hawthr, and Ralph) and Matt Tinordi (lugnut) were the goal scorers, earning 2 points each. Anas was ineligible, so his 4 (PtC-)point night was negated and the highest scoring eligible skaters for the Bobcats were Alex Barron (nobody), Kellen Jones (1988, Ralph, RPIHFH, rsfs04, and TuteScrooge), and Matthew Peca (ehf).

Both MavHockey and RKarger missed their picks this weekend, so they fell back in the race for first. viz and cnor joined me with two scoreless weekends on the season. There are still 8 posters who have an unbroken point streak this season. Highly impressive, if you ask me. 1988 climbed up a couple spots for the only standings move of note despite the close packing. The largest gap between consecutive positions lies at the top (Ralph and lugnut) and between 4th and 5th (RKarger and RPI fan 4 life) at just four points. Plenty of time left for the standings to jostle.

Also, we are now officially past the halfway point of the season with the Frozen Four being either Week 22 or 23. So, we are definitely over the hill and on our way towards the finish line.

Link back to the title post with details on scoring

There's a week-long break before RPI takes on Dartmouth at home and Union at the Times Union Center, so rest up and lick your wounds before jumping in with both feet.

Go take this opportunity to support the Women Engineers as they take on the Dutchwomen and could use a sweep to solidify their playoff positioning.

You may not choose the following players for this game:
RPI - Ryan Haggerty NOR Chris Bradley
Dartmouth - Eric Neiley NOR Andy Simpson
Union - Daniel Carr NOR Mat Bodie

Statistics / Rosters:
Rensselaer: Statistics | Roster
Dartmouth: Statistics | Roster | KYE
Union: Statistics | Roster | KYE

I'm fairly confident all of my picks will be eligible, so I might as well make them now.

RPI: Brock Higgs
Dartmouth: Charles Grant

RPI: Curtis Leonard (I know, a left-field pick, but why not)
Union: Colin Stevens

Re: RPI Pick to Click 2013-14: Revenge of the Nerds

Dartmouth gets only one point in their home weekend against Colgate and Cornell. They find themselves still in last place in the ECAC. Union swept UNH in Durham to improve their record to 15-4-3.

With that said, ineligible players are finalized. Go ahead and pick your poisons.
