RPI Pick to Click: 2010-2011 Edition

Re: RPI Pick to Click: 2010-2011 Edition

These are random picks, usually I put a bit more strategy in.

RPI: O'Grady
Colgate: McPherson

RPI: Foss
Cornell: D'Agostino

Re: RPI Pick to Click: 2010-2011 Edition

babo sent me her picks by facebook. I got them at 6:41, just under the deadline.

"Koudys / K. McNamara, Foss / Birch"

Re: RPI Pick to Click: 2010-2011 Edition

Congratulations go to me for my third weekly win. GRussinko had another impressive weekend, being the only poster to be in the top 5 for both this week and last.

The correct choices on the weekend were Malchuk (nobody), K. McNamara (babo), AAG or JFK (nobody), and Collins (ehf), J. Devin (wong, myself, FD08, GRussinko), Iles (nobody), Mihalek (nobody), or Whitney (nobody).

It was a very low-scoring week. The winning score was only 4 points, which ties the record for lowest winning score (ties with the single game against BU). There were 5 posters who failed to register a point. Ralph extends his lead to 10 points. TuteScrooge gets knocked out of the Top 10 after another stellar weekend by GRussinko.

So, Results (and link to Google spreadsheet with cumulative results):

Link back to the title post with details on scoring

Union pulls out a sweep, while the Engineers get swept on the weekend.

Clarkson and St. Lawrence are coming off a weekend where both teams split their games by winning on Friday and losing on Saturday, but they still have to face each other on Tuesday.

You may not choose the following players for this weekend of games:
Rensselaer:
F - Chase Polacek
D - Nick Bailen

St. Lawrence:
F - Greg Carey
D - George Hughes

Clarkson:
F - Brandon DeFazio
D - Mark Borowiecki

Statistics / Rosters:
Rensselaer: Statistics | Roster
St. Lawrence: Statistics | Roster (beware of K. Flanagan / S. Flanagan, M. Raley / P. Raley confusion)
Clarkson: Statistics | Roster

Im pretty sure my goal for the rest of the season is to not let rvd beat me..

Re: RPI Pick to Click: 2010-2011 Edition

Is that where it's in English, Swahili, or Russian? :D
That was the last time he posted in the correct format. I figure that if he uses his own post as a guide, then he can't screw up. But, knowing rvd, he never ceases to surprise me.

Re: RPI Pick to Click: 2010-2011 Edition

He hasn't done it twice in a row, so I don't think that's what he uses.
He uses whatever's posted immediately before he makes his picks. So, when no one makes picks, he uses the 1F, 1D approach. When he waits til Thursday or whatever, he copies the format of the person immediately before him. I figured that if I gave him the "correct" format, then he'd be able to figure it out for himself.

Re: RPI Pick to Click: 2010-2011 Edition

I have a strategy on this one. I'm not following it completely because a certain player did something I don't feel would happen again. We'll see if this works.

R: Foss
T: K. Flanagan

Rules: Rabbani
Sucks: Tamblyn

Re: RPI Pick to Click: 2010-2011 Edition

I'm a bit caught up in the Watson phenomenon here at RPI, so here's what my algorithm thinks should be the picks. It says these picks should be good for 5.2335 points. It actually suggested Karpowich over Tremblay, but I don't want to bet against RPI for that result.

RPI: York
SLU: K. Flanagan

RPI: Helfrich
Clarkson: Tremblay

I may revise these towards Friday depending on who other people are picking.

RPI: Bergin
ST. Larry: Bogosian

RPI: Helfrich
Knighties: MacPherson

(Maybe I should switch Helfrich to match Ralph or jinx him.) ;)
