Re: RPI Pick to Click: 2010-2011 Edition

Congratulations go out to RPIHFH, who took advantage of Welsh's big night on Friday and picked up a couple extra miscellaneous points to win this week's PtC. RPIHFH's big week lets him / her leapfrog both myself and vizoroo into 4th place.

For those that are curious, the correct picks were Helfrich or Lee, Welsh, a multitude of players, and Hatch. Bailen had a fantastic weekend (as we all know), but was ineligible.

Congratulations also go out to Ralph (yet again), who holds onto his lead by picking up at least one point from each of his picks. He was able to extend his lead to a nearly dominating 4 points. 4 posters joined Ralph in the 20-point club as everyone picked up at least one point on the weekend.

There were no new posters this week, but Dutchfan made a fairly triumphant return to the game (and presumably takes his exit) and rvd potentially shot himself in the foot by not picking a Bodie on Friday. TuteScrooge also made a move, leapfrogging cnor and ehf, moving into a tie for 10th.

Link back to the title post with details on scoring

Since BGSU and UConn have games this coming weekend, picks aren't open yet, but I will detail the scoring system for the tournament so that any questions can be alleviated this week. To be clear, the point breakdown (points per goal, assist, etc.) does not change.

You will pick one player for each team. This player will represent you for the entire weekend. For example, a valid set of picks would be:
RPI - Tyler Helfrich
UConn - Alex Girke
UAH - Neil Ruffini
BGSU - Mike Fink

So, all four games on Thanksgiving weekend matter for PtC (yes, even the games that RPI is not playing in). I'll repost this next Sunday with the list of ineligible players and links to the statistics / rosters.

Care to add a new field to get points on - amount of RPI goals that are disallowed? :p

Sounds good to me! An extra point for guessing the number of disallowed goals on the dot! Remember, folks, the answer is probably not 0.

If you really mean this, you should probably spell it out. Are you counting both teams? Does there need to be a disagreement? ...

No, I don't actually mean this. The scoring breakdown remains as it has been. And, no changes are going to occur until after the season ends (although I think some deduction should occur for penalties, but I'm not sure there's a "fair" point value for that) (and even after the season ends, there probably won't be any changes).

Good to hear that it won't change, at least at this time.

Link back to the title post with details on scoring

As stated earlier (post 225), the point breakdown (points per goal, assist, etc.) for this week does not change, but you are only picking one player for each team for the entire weekend. For example, a valid set of picks would be:
RPI - Tyler Helfrich
UConn - Alex Gerke
UAH - Neil Ruffini
BGSU - Mike Fink

So, all four games on Thanksgiving weekend matter for PtC (yes, even the games that RPI is not playing in). And, I'll take it that there were no questions, since the only matter discussed this past week was including disallowed RPI goals :p.

One thing to mention, is that PtC points conclude after 65 minutes of play. So, if the game goes down as a tie, the results of the shootout have no relevance on the points for this game (goals scored, goalie's win-loss decision).

You may not choose the following players for this weekend of games:
Rensselaer:
F - Chase Polacek
D - Nick Bailen

Connecticut:
F - Cole Schneider
D - Brian Reagan

Alabama-Huntsville:
F - Keenan Desmet
D - Tom Durnie AND Matt Baxter

Bowling Green:
F - Jordan Samuels-Thomas
D - Ryan Peltoma AND Andrew Krelove

Statistics / Rosters:
Rensselaer: Statistics | Roster
Connecticut: Statistics | Roster
Alabama-Huntsville: Statistics | Roster
Bowling Green: Statistics | Roster

(Don't forget, you can change your picks up until 4:00 on Friday when the puck drops for the UAH-BGSU game.)

RPI - Tyler Helfrich
UConn - Sean Ambrosie
UAH - Curtis deBruyn
BGSU - Marc Rodriguez

Re: RPI Pick to Click: 2010-2011 Edition

I forgot to mention this earlier (mainly because I forgot that the tournament uses shootouts), but the game ends when the NCAA considers the game over. So, any shootout goals scored don't count, and the game is a tie, even if the goalie you choose "wins."

Re: RPI Pick to Click: 2010-2011 Edition

RPI - cj lee
UConn - miles winter
UAH - Neil Ruffini
BGSU - david solway

Ruffini isn't allowed.

EDIT: Oh crud, he is. Burgie, your example screwed me up! Could you next time put it in Swahili so I can understand it?
