Someone let me know how the face off statistics are going. It has looked as bad as usual on video live

Re: Rpi@osu 10/13/2017

We are now approaching that part of the game where in the past few years we could count on giving it away. if there is a difference, let's see it now

Greenlaw did this (26) for each of 3 periods. He was credited with 78 saves, but from someone who was there, I can tell you they missed perhaps 10-15 more. And BU hit the crossbar and posts at lest 5-6 times more. We had a lot of one sided losses that year (16-1 to Clarkson and i believe 14-0 to Northeastern for example) but that game was tilted downhill for all 3 periods. I would dare say that at least 10 of his saves were of the goal saving spectacular variety. From what i just watched, most are not spectacular to night but we have shown absolutely no ability to stop this one sided assault. The fact that the score is still 1-1 is miraculous and includes a full 2 minute 5 on 3 against us.
BTW unlike the BU team I saw in 1965-66, this OSU team is rather ordinary. So what does that say about us? We have a lot of work to do.
My father, playing for Champlain College, made 64 saves against Harkness' 195_ juggernaut team at HFH (before they won the NC.) I have the game program. That record stood at HFH until the late 60s early 70s when some poor soul made 71 saves.

Interestingly enough, my dad went on to work at RPI early in his career and was lifelong friends with Ned.

Perry sounds like he’s standing on his head tonight. If Marshall can do the same thing tomorrow night, it could be a great goaltending tandem this year.

WS-Greenlaw was credited with 78 in 1995-66. I was friends with Dick at the time and for years after. i was not aware of the previous record but what you mention sounds correct.

It's correct - I grew up with both men! ( My dad and Ned ). If I can figure out how, I'll post a few pics. ( it was the no-mask era for hockey goalies)

Re: Rpi@osu 10/13/2017

Overtime. Fourth impression-we have been a step slower than OSU all night. We may look bigger, but we played smaller. Out shot badly. We have to be grateful that we can even get this game into overtime. Now we have to close this one out which is something we just could not do very often in the past few years
