The RPI '85 vs. BU '09 1/4-final game in the NCAA's Frozen Four's Finest tourney should be today. The link isn't up yet but should be linked from here soon http://www.ncaa.com/sports/icehockey-men/d1. Here's the bracket http://www.ncaa.com/news/icehockey-men/frozen-fours-finest/2014-09-11/frozen-fours-finest-bracket.

I saw both of these teams IMHO RPI '85 was much the better. Anyway, voting is by Twitter or Facebook account.

Thanks, Ralph.

I discovered that if I log into the voting site using Chrome I don't get the same scary intermediate message that I got when I used IE9. I actually was able to vote today!

Too bad that it looks like we will lose. :(

Re: RPI Offseason Thread: Six Languages of Drivel

It's that time of year again, when we all stare at tables of statistics to choose the perfect player and then just give up, close our eyes, and point randomly. That's right, it's time for PICK TO CLICK! I'm taking over running the contest for the venerable burgie12 after he stepped down at the end of last season. Will Ralph repeat as champion? Will I rig the game to beat him? The only way to find out is to come over and play.

HFH has upgraded the Press Box area. Much more room....looks like the took a couple of rows that were beneath it previously. I also noticed where the band played they have put back the rows of seats they had previously removed (for percussion instruments?). They also now have the Swedish Flag up. The Jerry Knightly banner is hanging below Adam Oates’. No Posters of D’Amigo or Zalewski in their NHL attire. I still wish they would move the whole thing so they weren’t blocked by whatever tables are setup during game day.

So there are now 4 flags up? During the anthems for the Friday women's game I only saw U.S., Canada and Finland.

Congrats to Coach for finishing the marathon. I have no idea what really constitutes a good time in general or more specifically on this course, but under four hours sounds good.

Must be a good time-I cannot finish lunch in much under that.

A most respectable time IMHO. I last ran a marathon when I was 31 and did it in 3:34 and change. I would posit that at 40 years of age his time was a far better effort than mine.

Re: RPI Offseason Thread: Six Languages of Drivel

I an now breath a sigh of relief, not that I really had a cause to be concerned, but I just called the Field House (about 1 minute after tickets went on sale) and bought tickets for the Harvard and Dartmouth games on 11/7 and 11/8. For the first time I had made my hotel and airline reservations prior to getting the tickets.

Now I can worry about it snowing. :D
