RPI Offseason Thread: Six Languages of Drivel

Re: RPI Offseason Thread: Six Languages of Drivel

Perfect opportunity for a tombstone on the front with RPI and on the shoulders the same but with RIP on them. And a shadowy picture of the grim reaper behind the tombstone.

They could have a lot of fun with this.

Has practice started yet? I look forward to the glowing early reports that always come out of the game against the Canadian team... great speed, this kid will score 20 goals... not! Hope we'll have a good number of people attending the following weekend to see how the kids do against good competition. Straight into the fire this year!
To the best of my knowledge, there can only be captains' practice at this time. That is undoubtedly happening.

Re: RPI Offseason Thread: Six Languages of Drivel

Today is 2 October 2014. In honor of Parker Reno and Heidi Huhtamaki, there are 2 days until RPI's next game.

This is based upon 4 October 2014 for the start of next season.

Re: RPI Offseason Thread: Six Languages of Drivel

That's probably the best one so far.

In a plain vanilla, inoffensive kind of a way... sort of like a white Toyota. It looks OK parked. But you just know that one day you will be in a rush and get stuck behind some idiot, who used to be a hall monitor and now considers himself a junior highway patrolman, driving that thing 64 MPH in the passing lane.

RPI 2014-2015 Part 1: October... Trick or Treat?

The problem with that one is that I don't think we will finish it in October. :D

Given how the threads remain open indefinitely these days, it looks like the only way to "finish" a thread is to stop using it.....

Every once in a while USCHO seems to randomly close a bunch of threads which have reached the 1000 reply mark.

Re: RPI Offseason Thread: Six Languages of Drivel

I nominate McGill University for this year's "We're Ready to Play" award. McGill will play three games in three nights Oct. 4-6, at Denver, Colorado College, and Air Force.

It'll probably be a good idea for them to bring their oxygen tanks.

Of course, if their coach wants to save on expenses, he can do like Ned Harkness - bring tanks filled with plain old air and just tell the players that there's oxygen in them. ;)

Re: RPI Offseason Thread: Six Languages of Drivel

He did leave R behind. ;)

If he was playing for the Bruins, that'd be ok.

In late 70's when I was working in NYC, I saw some fans near MSG on a game night. One was wearing a homemade blue jersey (the real ones do runs some $s) that read with carefully prep handwritten letters on the diagonal... RAINGERS.

He remembered the R.
