Re: RPI Offseason Part II: Mindless Drivel.

Guess he's picked up some defensive capacity, then.

Sounds that way. Bowman was very complementary in an earlier interview, saying to the effect that what BP achieved in the AHL (scoring title) was remarkable for a young kid and that BP had done everything the club has asked of him.

Re: RPI Offseason Part II: Mindless Drivel.

Haven't posted here since the unfortunate ending to the season back in March. Just wanted to thank everyone who has been posting in the off season to keep me informed or what is (or is not) gong on. Keep up the good work and as always Let's Go RED!!!

Re: RPI Offseason Part II: Mindless Drivel.

Today is 1 August 2013. There are 65 days until RPI's next game.

This is based upon 5 October 2013 for the start of next season.

Bummer-but would not be the least surprised to see him latch on somewhere else for a quick look. With injuries being rampant to QBs you can never have enough depth at the position.
Call me crazy, but given his size and athletic ability, I think his next stop might be as a tight end on a practice roster. QB roster slots are few and far between.

He was originally projected as a tight end, but it doesn't sound like he was interested. I suppose that it matters how interested he is in continuing a football career in some form.

Re: RPI Offseason Part II: Mindless Drivel.

Just a reminder that the USA Nat. Jr. Eval Camp starts Sunday thru Aug. 10 in Lake Placid - outstanding hockey and great chance to rub elbows with hockey scouts in an informal setting. The syrup suckers from du nord are in town this year, so the talent level will be bigger still. :D I plan on being there on Sunday.

.....going up Monday, maybe Wed., & Saturday.

WS, I don't know if you do this but I like to print out the rosters before I go up. I miss when the camp was in the smaller rink @ $5 for the day....although, I usually got there early and just walked in the players/scouts door :D......I see it's $15 now! Here's a link if you want to print out the rosters... on the left of the page you'll see USA (USA is Team White & Blue) and International Rosters...clik there. http://worldjuniors.usahockey.com/page/show/797432-jr-evaluation-camp

So true-but the pros are wiling to allow for many years of education for the QB position and often times it can be 5-10 years down the road before a slot will be made available. TE's get killed going across the middle for a catch and most knees(and skulls) just do not stand up long to that kind of bombardment. That's become more of a youthful position in the modern game whereas you did see the more mature fellows at that position back in the old days.

Re: RPI Offseason Part II: Mindless Drivel.

I don't know how familiar you all are with Reddit, but in the coming weeks the college hockey sub there will be doing a 59 teams in 59 days series and I'm in charge of the writeup for RPI (template here). I'm up on all things recent about the program but my knowledge of history is limited to a few of our finest moments, and even then my knowledge isn't very deep. For example, I really don't know who the fan base at large would consider our 3 greatest players were. I'm also at a loss for great games; I'm thinking '85 Championship Game and 2010 Black Friday for two of them, but I don't know about a third. Anyway, any help would be greatly appreciated either in posts here or if you'd like to email me here. Thanks for your help!

P.S., sorry the template is by a Clarkson fan. I've let him know how much he sucks regularly.

Then you should get back at him by mentioning Freakout 2002. ;)

Greatest games could include the '54 championship, December 4th 1968, Freakout '02, Freakout '05, RPI v Michigan '09...
