Re: RPI Offseason Part II: Mindless Drivel.

That was a good read on 60/70's ecac hockey, the background on Canadian players in college hockey (with out shout out to RPI/Ned Harkness), and in particular, the BU/Leon Abbott/Jack Parker story. I saw that RPI Christmas Tournament 8-2 win over BU that year... which turned out to be Parker's first loss as coach of BU. Don Cutts was in goal... that was one of the first games I saw as a freshman.

I wonder if any of our other long-time posters were at that game?
I think that was the game Gerry (bozo) Beauclair big defenseman skated thru center ice and unleashed a blast from outside the blue line that totally beat the BU goalie. Later once the game was already decided he was pummeling a BU forward so bad Parker or a BU coach was trying to get over the boards to stop it. At that time they let them fight for a while. Paired with Mike Prpich another d with a good shot.

As opposed to all of Beauclair's shots that scattered the band. :D

Edit: I dug our my program and Beauclair scored a goal in that game, but I certainly don't remember the details. Don Cutts made 66 saves in that game for RPI. :)

66 saves in an 8-2 win those were they days . I think I remember saves being inflated during Cutts years not that they had to be in some games. Any read on the penalty minutes in the game?

Just 12 for us and 8 for them.

Re: Where Did the Hockey Millions Go

If you were upset with how the linesmen conducted faceoffs the last couple of years......it could get worse (if you are of that opinion). The committee also believes officials have “become lax” with enforcing the limitations of player advancement during faceoffs.

If the players truly aren't doing the faceoff correctly, that's one thing. Other delays are quite another, such as a certain team we can't seem to beat in the playoffs consistently getting referee discussions after icing calls.
