More mindless speculation: My sources tell me that RPI and AD Knowlton in particular, is lobbying hard for Hockey East membership. Anyone hear similarly.

This was a fairly hot topic amongst RPI fans mid-summer but has cooled off as all the regular RPI posters seemed to have spoke their mind and their was never a peep from the school. How would you rate your source in the reliable category?

Pinpoint accuracy with regard to Union hockey and with enough contacts outside of that program to be worth listening to.

In honor of Zach Schroeder and Amanda Castignetti, today is 24 September 2011. There are 7 days (1 week) until RPI's next game.


This is based upon 1 October for the start of next season.




Hopefully the WiFi in the hotel I will be staying at in NYC through Tuesday is working.

Are you sure that the rumor wasn't based on hearing something from someone who read something here on USCHO? As jstadts wrote, we talked about it a lot earlier, but I saw nothing attributed to a credible source.


BTW: According to your rumor is Col Knowlton lobbying with HEA or with the RPI admins? Who supposedly needs convincing?

It'd more likely be the latter, I would think. Although given HEA is at 10, unless Notre Dame is going there, it could be HEA.

Im pumped up. I got my preseason training in by watching NHL exhibition games and yelling at the refs or as my good friend AspyDad says, enlighten them.

Things probably won't be as bad as last year. Even just by looking at last year's schedule, you could tell the deck was stacked against us. What's done is done, though. This year is a new year. Clean slate for everyone. Let's just worry about putting the puck in the net, because that is the most effective message that we can send to our opponents.

I didn't get a specific read on the latter question but it was not based on the discussion here. FWIW he also indicated that ND really wants to go with the Big 10, but that of course is not so much of a hockey issue.

Thanks, Perhaps it is still a live issue and the media silence from the tute is a smart move.In the event it doesn`t happen it would probably be best if the whole world didn`t know they were seriously thinking of leaving.

We are going to be able to score if we stay healthy-I am very sure of that. How well this big defense fits together and how solid we are in goal will determine how well we do.

It's hard to believe that the whole world wouldn't know (i.e., the other schools), if it were true..

Exactly - it was said many times last year that we needed to put more pucks in the net. I have repeatedly said that 1 extra goal a game is what we needed to really be great. I also agree with the good Doc that we should be getting that extra scoring this year.

For the football fans-RPI fell behind WPI 34-7 before mounting a furious fourth quarter rally that fell just short losing 34-31. Exciting finish but we fall to 1-2 on the year.
