Wouldnt mind seeing that at least once with Our Great Coach. And since AspyDad is such an insider now he would be right next to Our Great Coach the whole time yelling "YOUR A BUM HICKS"

Here's a shocker. The ECAC won't have any officials working the frozen four. Hmmmmmmm. Can anyone say indictment of Paul Stewart's tenure. Time to move on Comm. Hagwell and not with somebody who just retired from ECAC officials.

They may just be trying to set it up so that each game is officiated by guys from a neutral conference. Although we're not accustomed to such a situation, it is possible that an ECAC team might participate in every game of the frozen four this year.

This is exactly why. They're not going to use officials from a conference that has a team playing in the game. Klump reports that an ECAC crew will be on call for the final in the event it ends up being Lowell/SCSU.

Makes me wonder why they wouldn't just use Atlantic and CCHA, unless the CCHA refs have already disbanded... after all, I can understand why they wouldn't want to use just one league.

Perhaps as a reward to the leagues whose teams made the Frozen Four? It's a nice resume builder for the officials who get to work that weekend.

Before we go too far down the "we need to pay the coaches more" trail, one might stop to ask how the outcome of the O'Bannion lawsuit against the NCAA will affect all colleges that derive revenue from their sports.

Now, granted, at Rensselaer, we probably won't be affected at all (does ANY sport at RPI generate revenue in excess of costs? I don't see us signing any big TV contracts soon...). It may very well have a chilling effect on all college sports across the nation however, which would ripple across all coaches and all sports.

basically, the case started when a college athlete's likeness was used in an EA Sports video game without his permission, and he sued for part of the royalties. Somehow it has expanded far beyond that to the point in which people are asking if athletes will get a portion of TV revenues and the like. This article does a pretty good job of explaining the issues.

Any AD who is paying attention has got to be at least a little bit nervous.

Lesson learned: I'm 99% sure that post was in reference to having two of Ralph's daily countdown posts in a row when the FF hasn't even happened yet.

I am sure also. I was wondering if it was going to happen when I went to bed yesterday, but REDaero91 rescued us. :)
