If I'm Shirley I would give our great coach an ext. and more $$$$. I dare not think it but if our great coach ("OGC") leaves were going to get a name like Ben Barr or Nolan Graham. Monty coming to RPI is a fantasy. He is either getting the Maine job or a pro asst or AHL job. Maybe they (Barr, Graham) would be decent but I don't think there going to bring in the guys OGC does. We need to pony up. Maybe the lure of DU is too much but let's not say we didn't try to keep him.

With all due respect to you and Waite( I'm not looking to start a fight). I do think there is a connection. The revolving door on the football program is not good. Waite cited the basketball and baseball coaches as being there a long time but Dr. Jackson did not buid a multi million dollar staduim for either of those sports and feature EVAC around there facililties. Appert brings cred and stability.

What else do they use it for? I wouldn't be surprised if one of the ultimate goals is to move RPI to D-I-AA (or whatever the hell they call it now).

Just a guess that it might have something to do with the 5,200 seat football field (with room to nearly double that capacity in the future) as opposed to the 1,200 seat basketball arena.

I was referring to the building next to that stadium. Aside from some offices and conference rooms, a trophy case, as well as access to the football stands, what else do they use that multi-million dollar building for?

How about a world class 4,800 s.f. strength and conditioning center and pro caliber sports medicine suites -- including the whirlpool room which IIRC, alone cost more than $1 million...

OK folks let's start thinking positively here. As far as I'm concerned there is only one thing that is worth speculating about seriously right now. What about DU's incoming recruits? Can we poach some of them? I'm guessing that Gwoz would put a good word in for us.

For 2014-15? We're fairly set for this year, unless for some reason the kids coming in decide to follow SA in case the worst happens.

We have speculated about that on numerous occasions. it has only been us speculating, never any hint from the admins.

But Denver is also set. I tend to doubt that there will be a mass of recruits following coaches. Recruits for later years is indeed perhaps a different story.

I agree that we should try to keep SA, but if DU wants him, and he wants them, he's gone.

That sums it up pretty well. I don't think we have to speculate at all on what SA would do. The only unknown is if Denver would want him. i have no idea of the time frame on this kind of thing-we could be talking about this for days or weeks or even months. But i would guess they want to settle this as soon after the Frozen Four as possible(unless it is already a done deal and just unannounced).

Yup. Seth is gonna look after himself and his family first. If the Pios offer him a hefty bump, Mrs. A. will be house shopping in Aurora in no time. It will be interesting to see who gets an interview. If things went as badly as it sounds between Gwoz and the multi-hyphenated lady, she may not go anywhere near a Gwoz guy.
