Re: RPI Off-Season 2013 Part I: We Will Get Our Title Next Season

Right after he says Gwoz is family, he "Declined comment" as to whether he'd be a candidate... wow. That's essentially a yes.

Considering when he was asked about BU, he essentially said "no way, no how", a "no comment" seems to be saying nothing's off the table.

Either way, its gonna cost Shirley some dough...unless Monty's waiting in the wings.

Perhaps, however given the timeline so far, my guess is that he is more likely thinking "they haven't asked me yet and I have no clue how I'd react if they did. I have to think about it long and hard first and consult with my attorneys about contractual details. Also I can't say anything to the press that I haven't mentioned to my wife first."

I'll take the Audi off yer hands....but am not a fan of pinky rings.

Wicked-which Audi do you want? Jen would never part with the 2 that she can reach the pedals and still see over the dash. Pinky rings?-surely you jest. Jenny speaks 2 languages-Italian and French-the only words she knows are Bvlgari and Cartier.

I think it's more along the lines of where you don't talk about a future job while you're still with the one you already have. It may not mean he's a candidate, but it certainly means he's interested. And given what has happened the past few years, I can't say that I blame him.

Re: RPI Off-Season 2013 Part I: We Will Get Our Title Next Season

No one can blame SA for considering anything that comes along. Finances speak volumes. He is a class act-but big bucks are big bucks and if DU came calling with the right number and the right guarantee in length of time, who would not be swayed? He is a family man and has to think about the future. I have no clue what his salary is in Troy, but if we want to keep him, we should do whatever it takes to do just that.

I would at the very least match the number that Gwoz was getting at DU (221K). With the football coaching situation in flux it is important that Shirley keep Seth to provide stability at the Tute.

Re: RPI Off-Season 2013 Part I: We Will Get Our Title Next Season

I would also suggest that we all start referring to Seth as Our Great Coach if we want to keep him.

BTW - very well said. I couldn't agree more.

I am not often one to be dead serious about much-but this development demands it.

Now, as far as the DU job-i am available and have all the right qualifications-but of course i know diddley squat about being a hockey coach.:)

Re: RPI Off-Season 2013 Part I: We Will Get Our Title Next Season

If DU pushed Gwoz, which it looks like, our great coach will have nothing to do with replacing him. SA is a class act and would not diss his mentor like that.

I hope you are right. But God forbid if it did happen, imagine what it would be like when Denver comes in here next season?

If it works for us with Mike Adessa, it might work for them with you. ;) Wasn't Adessa a football lineman? Although it wouldn't shock if he had had some prior coaching experience in hockey...
