Re: RPI Off-Season 2013 Part I: We Will Get Our Title Next Season

Seth is being interviewed as a courtesy. He still needs to keep cutting his teeth. No doubt Denver is looking elsewhere. Why would Denver hire a protege of the man they just fired? Especially one that has had limited success.
SA needs a couple strong seasons before he beats feet from the collar city
DU would be fine with Appert being a protege of Gwozdecky's in terms of coaching, as long as Appert is not a protege of Gwozdecky in terms of contract demands. Appert may have had "limited success," but the thought is that if he can recruit and coach well, he will have some additional advantages at Denver that he might not have at RPI. (Not intended as a dig at RPI.)

If Seth leaves for Denver, who would take over? Why not a guy like Mark Jooris? There's a guy who won a National Championship with RPI in 85 and is still playing and coaching hockey. Thoughts?

Welcome to USCHO.

It would certainly create an interesting situation when we play Union next year. Personally, I wouldn't expect someone who didn't have some college coaching experience.

I hope you mean FreshFish when you say Fishy. I dont get paid enough to keep this board in check....:p

I most certainly do. It's a colloquial name in the Café, and the same have taken a need to call me "Flaggy".

Neither do I. He is just annoyed with me because I asked him to practice good manners only in the RPI team thread and he refused. Somehow asking one person to be considerate of other people only in his "home thread" was translated by him into "trying to run the board."

Go figure.

Actually it's more along the lines of you ordering people to ignore me and for how long, like you were Judge Judy or something. If they want to, that's fine, but that's between that person and me. You are not becoming an egging third banana in that fight.

If they wanted someone without college coaching experience-but some success at the ECHL level i can think of a candidate who has 3 cups (Calder, Kelly, Turner) to his resume and is currently involved in the playoffs again.;)

:) Then there is Kevin Constantine who said that he wasn't interested at this time back when SA was hired.

That's who we're losing if he gets the DU job. Do you mean Ted Orion?

No I was just following along with the rest of the posts with names of guys who would never show up in Troy. My next name is Reggie Dunlop

How about the ringing endorsement of Our Great Coach from the B man!!!! Sweet.

Re: RPI Off-Season 2013 Part I: We Will Get Our Title Next Season

Just because you don't like it, doesn't make it pointless. The fact is Seth is on the short list for a new job. Its human nature to think and speculate as to who might make a suitable replacement...the very same exercise that the Colonel is no doubt well down the road on.

Just now back to the boards - kind surprised at what im reading in general, but gotta say I'm with WS on this one.
