not suggesting a full prevent D at all-i despise that tactic as it hardly eve works. There are several changes that can be made to change the emphasis from trying to scor eth next goal to trying to just prevent the next goal without sacrificing offensive chances. Sometimes it means palying a more defensive set of defensemen sometimes it a slight switch in offensive lines so they do not get caught in deep as easily. Sometimes it could even mean shortening the bench and sitting one line or a defenseman a bit more. These are all coaching decisions-and the guys in the pros do it all the time which is why you rarely see many third period comebacks (it is not a prevent defense where you just sit back and defend and make no attempt to move up ice).And we need to learn this fast-we needed it last night and we did not do it.

Hound-You know as well as I do I am not indicting a prevent defense. i am asking them to play a slightly altered style that leaves you less vulnerable . You can still counter attack all third period. Union has it figured out pretty well. As i type this MSU scores and they already got the NEXT goal.

We should all feel better now...no need for anything but another goal...

Dude-You have totally misunderstood what i suggested. Now with a tie game it means very little. The team has shown in both games the inability to play with a 2 goal lead in the third period-that needs to be addressed.
