Re: RPI Hockey 2019 - 2020 Part II: Moving on with 2020 Vision!

Can only think of a very small handful of regulars who may have been present for this drubbing 68 years ago. However, whatever elation anyone present felt with this win along with tying SLU for the top spot of the Tri-State League and being "temporarily" declared co-champions was short lived. Not long after, RPI got themselves heaved due to the use of an ineligible player. Hard to believe people were not fired on the spot, especially in those times!!!

What was the incident about an ineligible player? I don't recall ever reading one in the 1950's..

The source of the information was a website called the College Hockey Historical Archives. You need not worry much about the curator of this site. Virtually all consider this particular source quite reliable.

Thanks. I am well aware as to who the curator is. I had not noticed the remark about RPI having an ineligible player. I wonder who it was.

Any halfway decent coach can manage to win a game in a season. Hockey is a sport with a great deal of luck that affects the final outcome. To lose every single game means the team is significantly worse than most teams in the country. But please, keep defending the guy who has accomplished nothing here, is about to lead a team to a WINLESS SEASON and couldn't manage a winning record with an all-world goaltender (who he did not recruit btw)
Wow another comic book quality analysis what's the chances we must just be lucky !

Purple cow speech?

Was he referring to the 21-2 pasting RPI hung on Williams College in 1952? (That was the last year Williams was a member of the Tri-State League.)

I never saw a Purple Cow,
I never hope to see one,
But I can tell you, anyhow,
I'd rather see than be one!

As of today RPI is a 3-2 underdog for Friday at 54% to 36% ( actually a bit better than i would have thought). We are a 2-1 favorite at 61%-29% for the Freak Out on Saturday.

Episode 2 of Talkin' Neers is out. I absolutely loved what he had to say about what it takes to build an elite program

Whoa. Back when the Field House was packed,, the band was on the stage, RPI or Vermont has no nameplates on their jerseys, section 1 was in existence, and WRPI had two announcers I never heard before :D.

BTW, someone needs to ask if the stage is ever coming back ;)

Ancient history for all of the above.... sadly.

Take a guess at who the least penalized team in the country is...
