Nice job RPI! Looked like a good game overall for you guys!

Re: RPI Hockey 2017 - 2018: A Wealth of Notions

Thanks all. :) Went to the game (as I perennially do), and as I mentioned in the score thread, it's the first time I've really seen us play solid from opening puck drop to final horn and/or goal. I was getting a little bit worried about the lack of calls on both sides, only because I was concerned the game was going to get a bit out of hand. Nothing wrong with a good hard-hitting game, even if there were times I was wondering if we were at Teagle Pool instead of Lynah Rink. ;)

There were three disappointments, nothing to do with the game: no more hot apple cider, the Olympia dude (the ice resurfacer there is not Zamboni-brand) with the costumes retired, and I didn't see one of the two ushers I normally see over in Section O; hope she's doing OK. But if that's all that was to be down about, it sounds like a good night.

I saw someone in the Union thread mentioning some unkind words about their fan base and some staff members; it's definitely true, and makes winning there even sweeter, so much so that it was good of the players to give us in Section O a stick salute despite the "disapproval" from the Lynah Faithful. If we play like for the rest of the season, it'll definitely be finishing out the season on a high note, which is something you really want in a transition year.

Besides for the Mayors' Trophy game, do we know any other OOC games?

That's all that was mentioned. There'll probably be others, but nothing was said during last night's alumni event. It still is a mite early, so we'll probably find out more within the next couple months.

Great win! And typical of the Cornell faithful, hibernating to their echo chamber of Group think on eLynah when they lose.

Re: RPI Hockey 2017 - 2018: A Wealth of Notions

Since there has been little written about the Cornell game, and much of what has been written lately has been on the negative side of the ledger, I wanted to say Congratulations to the Engineers on a great victory. Again there were several missed chances that could have widened the winning margin, but great goaltending saved the day. This team certainly has what it takes to win on any given night against any opponent. The problem continues to be not burying chances. And if the goaltending is spot on, a W, otherwise a loss. Imagine what watching this team will be like if they begin to put the puck on and then in the net! The next 2 weekends should be lots of fun.
